Hi, I am helping a user set up oXygen Author for use with Hebrew, in which I am regrettably illiterate. (But I know something about oXygen and CSS.) These documents are not entirely or primarily Hebrew; they only have occasional bits of Hebrew in paragraph or mixed content. The support for bidirectional text in oXygen is getting really impressive. But I have one request that I don't know how to address, and don't know if it's possible. The users would like to be able to see the locations of the Unicode control characters for right-to-left, left-to-right, and 'pop', if not actually to color the text between them. Since CSS doesn't support character-level controls (tmk) I don't believe this can be done. Am I right? If I am, does anyone have ideas for possible approaches or workarounds? My user is aware that (a) in bidirectional mode, oXygen indicates with its cursor when there is a change in direction, and (b) that more functionality is possible if his users are willing to use XML markup and not only the Unicode control characters. BTW, it looks to me as though oXygen automatically inserts the Unicode controls when I insert characters from the Hebrew Unicode block. Is this correct? Will it happen even when I'm in a place already configured (using CSS on an element) that right-to-left is the direction? Thanks! DITA Map Metrics Report Enhancement Request: More About Conrefs

I really like the new map metrics report. But of course, I want moreŠ It reports the number of re-used elements (con refs) but it would be very nice to know, for each reused element, how many times it is reused. For example, I have a content set where I think every re-used element is used exactly once, which kind of calls into question the utility of re-use in this case (I think it¹s a side effect of how the original data was converted into DITA). authormode css, first-child pseudo class

Dear list, I am currently putting together a framework for our (TEI-xml) project. In this project, we are dealing with texts where every new line is marked by a <lb/> tag. With an author mode css stylesheet, I am reflecting this with a linebreak '\A' and a newline char ('?') inserted via the lb:before pseudo-class. Now I would like to suppress this mechanism for the first occurrence in a containing <p>, <head> or <item> element and have it executed only for the second and subsequent line beginnings. Without success, I have tried various things like this one: lb{ display:inline; -oxy-display-tags:none; } p lb:before, item lb:before, head lb:before{ content:"\A? "; } p:first-child:before, item:first-child:before, head:first-child:before{ content:"? "; } The suppression part mentioned above does not work. Can anyone shed some light on this, please? Adding company-specific words to the dictionary for a team

Hi I want to add a set of company-specific words to our English dictionaries for all the members of our team. I want to share them with everyone, and allow anyone to update them, possibly using SVN or Git for sharing the files, preferably using Ixiasoft DITA CMS to share them. We are using the Eclipse version of oXygen. What files do I need to share? I probably need to ask Ixiasoft how to go about sharing them most easily. Autocorrect smart quotes in editor mode? Or only author mode?

Hi, there, I was happy to notice that in version 15 you now have Autocorrect Preferences for autocorrecting smart quotes. But I'm not sure how to use it properly. First, does this autocorrect option only work in Author Mode? When you go in Author Mode, will it automatically change all existing quotes appearing in rendered text (as opposed to elements) into smart quotes? Second, a more basic question. Can I assume that whenever I am editing an attribute of an element that this Autocorrect option will not change it? Actually, a third question which is even more elementary. If I were to do a global substitution which resulted in attribute quotes as having smart quotes instead of normal quotes, would the parser still process it normally? I publish a lot of fiction by myself and others. I often do a lot of writing and editing both in editor mode as well as author mode. (I often don't notice what mode I am in). Output from an XSLT transform - other editor formats?

I'm transforming some content from XML to JSON. Oxygen has a nice JSON editor, but my transform output options, when opening in the editor, are limited to XHTML, XML, or SVG. Is it possible to open another editor variant from the transform? -- Steve

Hi group I've got Illustrator EPS graphics in my DITA topics. I followed the instructions in this Help topic to install the Java Advanced Imaging(JAI) Image I/O Tools plug-in: http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-editor/tasks/author-image-rendering-jai.htm… However, I don't see a preview yet, even though my EPS file does have an 8-bit TIFF preview. My java.runtime.name is "Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment", so I downloaded jai_imageio-1_1-lib-windows-i586-jre.exe And I installed it in the folder which is specified in my java.home, namely: c:\program files\oxygen xml editor 15.1\jre Any ideas? Small bug

With Oxygen 15.1 I noticed a small issue today. Just for curiosity I tried processing my AHF styles with FOP. It produced some errors as I expected but one of the errors was pointing to an old help file. System ID: C:\dita\en\products\foo\temp\pdf\oxygen_dita_temp\topic.fo Scenario: BMX User AHF PDF Input file: C:\dita\en\products\foo\Foo_User_Manual.ditamap Engine name: DITA-OT Severity: error Description: The flow-name "even-body-footer" on fo:static-content could not be mapped to a region-name in the layout-master-set.
