Hi, When dealing with major versions it's always a good idea to use a different directory. So, for v14, especially since it's a beta, please use a different directory. The preferences from v13.2 will not be affected by the v14 beta. Each version of Oxygen uses a different preferences file (even minor versions). When a new version is started for the first time, Oxygen imports the preferences from the prior version (latest version prior to the current one). Note that this import only happens once. So, all your preferences from v13.2 will be imported in v14 and you can continue using them there. If you change any preferences in v14, they will only affect v14. This means you can go back and forth between v13.2 and v14 and each will have its own set of preferences without interfering with each other. Regarding the document types (frameworks). If you have made changes to the Oxygen built-in document types or have created other external storage document types (.framework files) in the frameworks directory from the old version, these will not be imported in the new version of Oxygen. You can copy your created document types from the frameworks directory of the old version to the frameworks directory of the new version. Hi,
I’m really curious to check out the beta version 14, but I have one question: What is the preferred/best way to install two different versions of OxygenXML, is it enough to simply install it in a different directory? How about on a Mac? Will I keep my preferences (indentation for each document type), my database connections, etc.?
Thanks, Jakob. _______________________________________________ oXygen-user mailing list oXygen-user@oxygenxml.com http://www.oxygenxml.com/mailman/listinfo/oxygen-user
