It started working after I made an edit to the output file name of the transformation (in oXygen). Apparently, it still thought it was on a mapped network drive - but that cleared up when I made the edit. The message "Failed to compile stylesheet." is issued by the XSLT processor, so your stylesheet was retrieved correctly from the Samba share. I think there is an error in your stylesheet but without seeing it I cannot be of more help.
