I would not muck around in there unless you know what you are doing. Yes, stylesheets are where all the work gets done. It sounds like you are new to XML/XSL and Docbook in general. If so, I sincerely suggest you first read all of the book for which I sent you a link. While reading you will discover how to create a customer layer that will enable you to access and modify the power of the Docbook XSLs to change the way things look in the output formats you want. Once you understand Custom layers all you need to do is define a new transformation senario in Oxygen using your custom layer. After that it is as simple as clicking the transform button.
