Hm: Not all documents I consulted had this (though the canonical example does). So I'll try that. The fact that you have it working is certainly reassuring. You need to use xsl:import-schema to load the schema in the stylesheet and then you should use schema-element(element) instead of an element test in your XPath, for example....
