Hi,

Please note that 'jai_imageio-1_1-lib-windows-i586-jre.exe' is a 32-bit installer and on 64-bit systems it insists on installing itself in "C:\Program Files (x86)\" (32-bit program files) even after you've explicitly pointed it to install in "C:\Program Files\" (64-bit program files). Unfortunately there is no 64-bit Windows installer of the JAI Image I/O Tools plug-in.

So, if you are running a 64-bit edition of Windows and 64-bit edition of Oxygen, after installing 'jai_imageio' in c:\program files\oxygen xml editor 15.1\jre, check the corresponding x86 folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Oxygen XML Editor 15.1\jre. You will most likely find there the files that the 'jai_imageio' installer has deployed. You can simply copy the contents of the 'jre' folder from there to the 'jre' folder from the Oxygen installation folder.

I'll submit an issue to check if there is a better solution for 64-bit systems and we'll document it in the user manual for future reference.

Adrian

Hi group

I've got Illustrator EPS graphics in my DITA topics.

I followed the instructions in this Help topic to install the Java Advanced Imaging(JAI) Image I/O Tools plug-in:

http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-editor/tasks/author-image-rendering-jai.html#install-jai-plugin

However, I don't see a preview yet, even though my EPS file does have an 8-bit TIFF preview.

My java.runtime.name is "Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment", so I downloaded jai_imageio-1_1-lib-windows-i586-jre.exe

And I installed it in the folder which is specified in my java.home, namely: c:\program files\oxygen xml editor 15.1\jre

Any ideas?

Thanks
