Hi David, The spell checker also works in xi:included areas but indeed words which are incorrect cannot be replaced on the spot, the target file needs to be opened using the "CTRL+R 'Edit Reference'" trick David Cramer suggested. The current behavior is that only the current opened file's content can be edited and saved. It would be quite complicated for Oxygen to allow in-place editing of such areas. XI:Included documents can also recursively xi:include other content and can also be specified using xpointer schemes. The behavior of the "Save" operation is very clear now, only the current edited file is saved, if the improvement would be made it would mean that multiple files would need to be saved when the user saves. The 'Edit Reference' tries to find that target but a solution for "save" would need to be 100% accurate in finding the target content which needs to be modified, or else it would lead to corrupt XML documents. But depending on the user feedback we'll get for this one, we might try to approach this in a future version. Hi,
When opening a document with multiple XInclude references, the editor does not allow inline changes to the included content (unless it is opened in a separate view). Is there any way to make the XInclude content editable in the original Author view? If not, spell-checking or performing a global replace in a document with numerous XIncludes would be difficult.
