I wanted to apply an XQuery to the input document specified in a Saxon transformation scenario but it wasn't immediately obvious how this would work. I figured out that this works: let $doc := . As the first statement in the query (or the first that doesn't reset the context value). I think this works because Saxon uses the value of the -s parameter as the value of the query's context node (which is accessed using "."). It would be useful to have an example of this in the online help for running XQueries using Saxon.
