Ah, that will work, but setting format and indent on open is pretty dangerous as a global setting :-) I'm thinking that what I really want here is a way to do simple Oxygen action scripting, but I'm not sure how realistic that is--it certainly has the potential to be a can of worms. But I'm thinking of tools like InDesign and Illustrator that let you record actions and then play them back--it's a sophisticated tool but very handy. But it may be that I'm trying to solve this particular problem in the wrong way simply because Oxygen is the tool at hand. Maybe a better solution would be an option in format and indent to break attributes at word boundaries and indent the result? Hi Eliot,
Unfortunately we do not have such an action. A way to achieve this however is to turn on "format and indent the document on open" (Options-> Preferences -- Editor/Format) and then select the schemas you want to indent in the Project view, press Enter or invoke the "Open all files" action from the contextual menu then use the Save All action to save them.

So for my DITA RNG @domains update process I have:
1. Apply my XQuery to do the update of each doc
2. Do a global search and replace of " " to "\n"
3. For each document, apply format-and-indent to make everything neat.
1 and 2 I can quickly do from the project view against all the RNG files by setting up a logical folder to hold the files.
But there doesn't appear to be a way to do 3 against files in the project view. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Eliot
