... you can continue to use it as explicitly stated in the documentation, to the extent that the current version is sufficient for you (and you do not need compatibility with a newer version of a Subversion server).
Thank you for your reply. I personally haven't had to use anything more recent than Subversion 1.8, so I will continue to use it. I wasn't even aware of the version issue, and my main worry was that I would have to keep an old version of Oxygen installed if the Subversion client were to disappear from newer versions.
