The flat mode will still present the Recent, Global, Frameworks/[framework] structure but will not go deeper that that. That definitely does get me to the templates, but it does require typing that wasn't required before.
But I can't think off the top of my head of a way to avoid the need for typing, short of making the Global Templates list flat (that is, not reflect containing directories).

One of the nice aspects of the old template mechanism was it meant that I didn't have to have a templates/ directory that was designed specifically for Oxygen, since the use of Oxygen is as much for my own convenience as it is for my clients.
That is, I want my "templates" directory to be the holder for any kind of template for any tool or purpose for which templates is useful, not a specific "Oxygen templates" directory.
