[oXygen-user] New From Template Opens In Text Mode, How to Make it Open In Author Mode?

I looked in the help and poked around in the options but I didn't see anything that determines whether or not a new document created from a template will open in Author mode or Text mode or Grid mode. Is there a way to control this? My desire is to have new templates open in Author mode.
