Dear Eric,

We do not seem to reproduce the problem you are facing.
Please make sure that you open the schema or rng file with the correct editor (right click it and see if the Oxygen XSD or RNG Editor is checked by default).

We would also need some additional information like:

1) Are you getting some error message?
2) Was the old 7.2 oXygen plugin un-installed successfully?
3) Are you trying to open a XML schema or a RelaxNG file? Maybe a screenshot with the opened file would help.

Nope. Opening a RelaxNG (XML syntax) file in oXygen 8.0 (build
2006111719) on Mac OS X 10.4.8 (PPC architecture) causes the diagram
to open as expected.
    

Okay, I'm running it as an Eclipse 3.2 plugin.  Forgot to mention that.
