skip non-xml files when running batch validation

Hi, I’m running a batch validation process on a directory tree that contains a large number of XML files. However the directory also contains other types of files such as .txt and .log files. These files are showing up in the error log as follows: System ID: 9703177.log Main validation file: 9703177.logEngine name: oXygen Severity: warning Description: Cannot check file 9703177.log. Unknown extension. These messages are clogging up my error log. Does anyone know of a way to prevent these messages from appearing in the error log? Thank you, Scott

Hello Scott, What version of Oxygen are you currently running? In v13.2 and older I'm afraid there's no way around this, if you batch validate entire folders/directory trees. For v14.0 and later, you can associate the unknown extensions with the Text Editor (or other non-XML editors) and it will stop reporting the warnings. You can do this in Options > Preferences, File Types, New, specify the extension without the dot (e.g. 'log') and from the Editor combo choose 'Text Editor' or another type of editor that you find appropriate.
