is version 10.3 supposed to be usable in Debian Squeeze?

Hi! I've purchased oXygen a year ago but only now I have motivation to try to use it. However when I start to do something nontrivial, it becomes unusable. To be more specific, after reaching the point shown on the screen shot, it stops to react and even refreshing the window takes ages (as visible on the screen shot). I enclose below some information which might be relevant. Hello, Did you install a Linux install kit of Oxygen or the All Platforms one? Please try the Linux kit for your platform (32 bits or 64 bits) because it comes with an included Sun JVM. The All Platforms kit will use the default JVM already installed on the system which may not be a supported one (for example OpenJDK). If your system information means that the default JVM is a Sun Microsystems one the All Platforms kit should work too but let us try a Linux kit in order to find out first if it is a JVM problem. Please tell us the values of the system properties java.home, java.vendor and java.version which you can find in the Help -> About dialog, the System properties tab. If it is a Sun JVM and the java.home is [Oxygen-install-folder]/jre (as in the case of a Linux install kit) but the problem persists please add the parameter -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false to the startup script and restart Oxygen. You can find details about setting a startup parameter in the User Manual: http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-oxygen/set-parameter-in-startup-script.html The parameter -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false is also explained in the User Manual: http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-oxygen/display-problems-linux.html Regards, Sorin On 5/3/2010 12:47 PM, Janusz S. Done. The problem seems to be solved. Thank you very much for your quick answer. Best regards JSB -- , dr hab. Janusz S. Bien, prof. Hello, It is not the expected behavior. Please add the startup parameter -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false to the file /opt/Oxygen_XML_Editor_10.3/oxygen.vmoptions as documented in the User Manual: http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-oxygen/set-parameter-in-startup-script.html and copy the attached file log4j.properties in the folder /opt/Oxygen_XML_Editor_10.3. Restart Oxygen 10.3 and after you get the freeze again please send us a zip archive with the file /opt/Oxygen_XML_Editor_10.3/oxygen.log. Regards, Sorin On 5/4/2010 9:21 AM, Janusz S. Bień wrote:

Thanks for the instruction. I will try to reproduce the problem later, as for the time being I have switched to an Athlon 64 X2 computer with 2 GB memory. After setting Java memory to 1GB the old problems vanished, but I have some new ones, for which I will open new threads. Thanks again for your help. Best regards JSB -- , dr hab. Janusz S.
