Hi all, I've created a tiny Schematron schema to check that a specific set of element definitions in an XML Schema (XSD) are annotated with a description. I've added an xml-model PI to the XSD file to associate it with the Schematron file but noticed that Oxygen doesn't appear to be acting on that processing instruction. By default (automatic validation), Oxygen is reporting that the XSD is valid but when I manually request Oxygen to validate the XSD against the Schematron file, an error is (correctly) reported. Has anyone else experienced this? See https://github.com/martian-a/xslt40-test-suite/blob/test-suite-docs/admin/ca... for the XSD and https://github.com/martian-a/xslt40-test-suite/blob/test-suite-docs/admin/de... for the Schematron file. Sheila
Hi Sheila, The "xml-model" PI was intended to use only for XML files opened in the XML Editor. Since we have a different implementation of the validators for XML Schema (XSD) files, the only way to apply the tiny Schematron is using either the "Validate With..." or "Configure Validation Scenario(s)..." actions. Hi Mircea, An XML Schema (XSD) file is still an XML file, even though it expresses a schema and there's no reason, specification-wise, why the xml-model method shouldn't be used in an XSD file, hence my confusion at it not working. One of the reasons for using XML to write the technologies for XML (such as XSD) is so that we can take advantage of the rich toolset for working with XML, which, when authoring in Oxygen, usually includes automatic validation, so it seems perverse that my XML authoring experience is degraded simply because the XML document I'm authoring is a schema.
