Hi, We are having problems with the attached error. It seems to be a version of the one discussed here: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/18/ug-author/topics/address-family-no... This is occurring on a new install of Windows10 and a new 17.1 download. We tried what was recommended in the post, creating a new custom_commons.vmoptions file in the Oxygen17 folder in Program Files. The file didn't exist so we created a new one. The file contained only one line java.net.preferIPv4Stack=true or -java.net.preferIPv4Stack=true (we tried it both ways). We then restarted Oxygen and checked the system properties (nothing there). We also tried rebooting the whole computer and then checking the Oxygen system properties. We also tried not checking but just trying to checkout the repository. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -dan [U of Lethbridge Logo] Daniel Paul O'Donnell Professor of English and Associate Member of the University Library Academic Staff Editor, Digital Studies/Le champ num<http://digitalstudies.org/>érique <http://digitalstudies.org/> Vice President, Force 11<http://force11.org> Department of English and University Library University of Lethbridge 4401 University Drive West Lethbridge AB T1K 3M4 Canada Tel. +1 (403) 329-2377 http://people.uleth.ca/~daniel.odonnell @danielPaulOD ________________________________ From: Greta Vardazaryan <greta@editors.journalincubator.org> Sent: October 5, 2016 17:54 To: O'Donnell, Dan Subject: Error SVN Hi Dan, Please find attached the screenshot of the error. Hello, Yes, the file does not exist, so it must be created. I've submitted a request to address that in the documentation. It's best to create the file on your Desktop (or somewhere else where you have write access) and then copy it to the Oxygen folder from "Program Files" (admin request/confirmation appears when you copy it). The problem is the contents of the file. A Java property must be prefixed by "-D" when being passed as a VM option. So it should be: -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true Let us know if the problem persists.
