Map Editor: New Topicrefs Have Scope="peer"

I have been using the map editor by creating topicrefs to non-existent topics and then using the "topic doesn't exist, create new?" feature to create the referenced topic. The one problem I'm finding is that when I create the topicref, after I specify the URL of the target topic, the dialog sets the scope= value to "peer", which I then have to change to "local" so the reference will be correct. The URL I'm specifying is relative to the location of the map document, so the dialog should be able to tell that the target, while it doesn't exist, will be below the map's location (I can't think of any other way it would presume to guess whether a referenced topic is local or a peer). Alternatively, it should always take any relative path to be a local reference and any absolute path to be a peer path. Actually, it should not set scope= at all unless a specific value is requested (the default being "local"). Cheers, Eliot -- Eliot Kimber Senior Solutions Architect "Bringing Strategy, Content, and Technology Together" Main: 610.631.6770 www.reallysi.com www.rsuitecms.com

Hi Eliot, We fixed this issue and the 'scope' and 'format' attributes will not appear as specified if the value is the default one ('local' for 'format, dita for scope). Also when referring a non existing topic all values will be reset to empty and it will be up to you to enter the desired value. This improvement will most probably be available in Oxygen 9.3.
