Dear oXygen users, We announce the release of a new maintenance build (2013051016) for oXygen 14.2 (XML Editor, XML Developer, XML Author). The build number can be verified in the Help -> About dialog box from the application (next to the version number). You can download the new installation kits from our web site: http://www.oxygenxml.com/download.html Here you can find the complete list of bug-fixes: http://www.oxygenxml.com/build_history.html#2013051016 You can follow our oXygen release/build RSS feed here: http://www.oxygenxml.com/rssBuildID.xml Please let us know if you encounter any problems with this new build. Hi group When I install this build, I get a message saying that the previous version will be uninstalled, including XSLT stylesheets, XML catalogs and templates. I am currently using version 14.2, build 2013030817. I know where my templates are saved, so I can back up and restore them, but I also have quite a lot of (DITA) transformation scenarios with "storage=project options" which I want to keep, but I have no idea where these are saved and whether these will be removed or not. Any ideas? Thanks -- Yves Barbion www.scripto.nu

Hi, Before you upgrade your current installation, if you have added files or made changes to any of the files from the Oxygen installation folder (especially the frameworks folder), you may want to create a backup of them because they will be overwritten during the upgrade procedure. Added files and custom frameworks will be preserved but we recommend backing them up anyway, just to be safe. The Oxygen preferences (options and scenarios) will be preserved since they are located elsewhere (user home folder). Let us know if you need further assistance. Hi Yves, I want to clarify one thing: On 5/14/13 10:23 AM, Yves Barbion wrote:

This information is stored inside the project .xpr file. It is not changed during an installation. You can install the new build also in a different folder and then you will have them available side by side. Thank you for the clarification George. I haven't created any project .xpr files myself, so I don't really know where my transformation scenarios are stored. The only .xpr files I can find are: - simpleLayoutSample.xpr - sample.xpr I found a copy of these files in c:\program files\oxygen XML editor14 and in c:\users\yves\my documents\oxygenxmleditor Thanks Yves Barbion www.scripto.nu

Hi Yves, To see the current .xpr file that you use make the Project View visible from Window -> Show View -> Project. You can change the storage from project to global when you edit a scenario, see the Storage radio button there. You can also use the Options->Import transformation scenarios and there you can select either a file where you exported transformation scenarios or a project file. You should investigate working with projects. Create an oXygen project for each project you work with and then you should be able to switch between them while oXygen will keep open files and other information associated for each project. In fact most of the options pages have the possibility to set them at project level, for example if you want to use specific formatting settings for one project then you can decide to put the formatting options at project level. The project gives you access also to batch actions like search and replace, validation, transformations - all these can be triggered from the contextual menu from the Project View. Hi George Yes, I guess I should look into projects some time later. Meanwhile, I have managed to lose my "project transformation scenarios" even without updating my version of oXygen XML editor. This is what I did: 1. Choose Window > Show View > Project: the project "simpleLayoutSample.xpr" is displayed. 2. Choose Project > Save Project As and save the project as scripto.xpr in a temp folder (just to test this). Now, when I open one of my ditamaps, I no longer see my project transformation scenarios (Help!). All I see are the default DITA Map scenarios and three global scenarios. Quitting and restarting oXygen didn't help. Any idea how I can: - Get my project transformation scenarios back? - Create a backup of these scenarios so I can safely update my version of oXygen XML editor? Thanks -- Yves Barbion www.scripto.nu

Hi Yves, I've tested with v14.2 and saving a project to another folder doesn't lose the scenarios. It must be something else. Open the original project file you have used: simpleLayoutSample.xpr and check for the scenarios. Look in the "Transformation Scenarios" view (Window > Show View > ...). Check the filters (blue cogwheel toolbar icon) and make sure all scenarios are visible. Can you find the scenarios there? If you can't find the scenarios anywhere, please send us the involved .xpr files to check if they're still there. Also send the exported global options file: Options > Export Global Options. You might want to send these in private instead of the user list.
