Add comment... + deleted text in track changes

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there, The "Add comment.." feature is handy when collaborating with another person who is also editing the document source with oXygen. In addition to asking questions of my collaborator, I like using it in conjunction with oXygen's track changes to indicate why I made certain changes. However, I notice that you cannot add a comment to a deletion. So sometimes I have to be creative (e.g. associate the comment with some "space" chars immediately before the deletion). It would be cool if I could associate my comment with the actual deletion. This isn't a must have, just a minor enhancement to some already nice functionality. One more related thing I just noticed: Content marked as deleted still appears in the outline view with no strike-through. Ideally, in the outline view it would have strike-through as well. Yes, this would be a nice addition, thanks - I already added recorded it as issue EXM-24842 Best Regards, George -- George Cristian Bina <oXygen/> XML Editor, Schema Editor and XSLT Editor/Debugger http://www.oxygenxml.com

Hi David, The changes themselves allow comments, so you do not need to use the add comment to describe a delete, use the "Comment change" action instead - this is available from the contextual menu on a change, just after Accept and Reject actions. Ah, I see that now. That will work for me. Would it make sense to have the "Add comment..." button perform the "Comment change" action when in the context of a deletion? I guess the problem is that change comments and regular comments are considered different things by oXygen, so when you click on "Manage Comments" you won't see change comments. From the user's perspective, they're all just comments though. Hi David, Yes, we plan to integrate the management of changes and comments and probably the "Add comment" action in a context of a delete or insert from the same author that made that change should do what "Comment change" does.
