Improving the scenario dialog (organize 'em all)

Hi, I always found it quite difficult to organize my scenarios. After giving it some thoughts, I think 2 things could help here (especially the first one)... 1/ separating (for instance in 2 tabs, might be an optional feature) the global scenarios and the project scenarios 2/ allowing the user to categorize the scenarios, either in a tree hierarchy, or by allowing him/her to create new "scenario types" to belong in the dropdown list Just some thoughts... Hi, Thank you for the feedback. 1/ is already available in v13.2. Starting with v13.2 both sets of project and global scenarios are preserved when going back and forth between one and the other. You will still get a dialog asking if you would like to import or export the scenarios across the two sets, but the scenarios themselves are preserved. In v13.1 and earlier the project scenarios were discarded when switching to global scenarios. I've logged to our issue tracking tool an improvement request for 2/. This will be analyzed and if found appropriate, it will be implemented in a future version of Oxygen. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have further suggestions. Good! As a side question, I did not try to press the import and export buttons, as I want to be sure to not mess up with my scenarios (so it is actually maybe already there...), but now then I'd like to import and export scenarios selectively (that is, explicitly choose this and that scenario, but not the others). Is it possible? Or do the import/export buttons import/export every scenarios?

Good, thank you! For what it's worth, the need for categorizing scenarios is also because of the way I use projects. Because it is not possible to oen several projects at the same time, I tend to use gobal scenarios (or even worse, to use only one single project). So I rapidly end up with a lot of scenarios. With support for several projects at the same time, this would then be less important for me ;-) Thanks for your response! Regards, -- Florent Georges http://fgeorges.org/ http://h2oconsulting.be/

Hi, Currently(v13.2) all scenarios are imported/exported when using those buttons. So it's not a selective import/export, you have to manually delete the duplicate or unneeded scenarios afterwards. However, we plan to improve this in v14(or v14.1, v14.2) and provide a proper management of the two groups of scenarios. I've added the comments about your use case in the logged issue for categorizing. If you are coming to XML Prague, you will have the chance to talk in person with one of our developers who will handle the scenario management. Great! Thanks for the support, as usual!
