Hi again, In reference to the same project with the embedded Hebrew text, I and my user (and his users) have a couple of thoughts on extending the Character Map functionality even a bit more: * Make the Character Map available as a (dockable) View, not only from a toolbar button * Allow filtering by Unicode block * Support a user- or project-defined set of favorite characters I know the chances that these can already be done (only I haven't figured out how) are not zero.... Thanks! Wendell Wendell Piez | http://www.wendellpiez.com XML | XSLT | electronic publishing Eat Your Vegetables _____oo_________o_o___ooooo____ooooooo_^

Hi Wendell, The Character Map dialog is not a modal dialog so you can leave it opened and edit in the editor at the same time. But it also cannot be docked on the side as a view could, we'll see if we can remove this limitation in a future version. Filtering by Unicode block is an interesting idea. I guess your clients would only be interested in the Hebrew symbols, right? I added this as a feature request, in the meantime your clients can enter "hebrew" in the search field and in the "Details" tab they should see all characters which have the word "Hebrew" in their description. We also have API which would allow building a plugin which could contribute a custom view which could contain those favorite characters. Radu, Thanks, awesome. We are in that grey zone somewhere between necessities and nice-to-haves, depending on who you ask :-). Please keep in mind (as I like to repeat) that more feature requests are always a sign you are doing a good job, the point being that only when something is good enough or nearly so do people want to make it better. The Character Map is one of those things.
