Shortcut key wanted: Select element contents

Two favourite shortcuts: 1. Meta-E, to wrap text in a tag 2. Ctrl-Alt-X, to remove tags Two shortcuts I crave: 1. Select the contents of an element (everything between the opening and closing tag of the element the cursor is in.) 2. Like Ctrl-Alt-X, but to delete the tag attribute under the cursor. I looked amongst the existing shortcuts, but couldn't find either. Do they exist? francois -- francois@isotoma.com / Isotoma, Open Source Software Consulting Tel: 01904 567349 / Mobile: 07872 394273 / Fax: 020 79006980 Skype: fjordaan / http://www.isotoma.com Postal Address: Tower House, Fishergate, York, YO10 4UA, UK Registered in England. For 1, you have to set up your own shortcut. I just did this a couple of days ago, but I would also like it to be a default. Options->Menu Shortcut Keys, then sort by Description and look for "Select Content". In Arborext Editor, ctrl+e (I think, my memory is dim) would select the element content for the element containing the cursor. Successive presses would then select the containing element and so on up the ancestry tree. I used that feature very heavily. Hi Francois, Eliot, 2 is not possible, we do not have a select/delete attribute action. There is a Select Attributes action that selects all the attributes and you can set a shortcut for that if you want from Options->Menu shortcut keys. You can achieve a progressive selection up on the ancestor axes if you set a shortcut for the Select Parent action. Successive invocations will extend the selection. Thanks very much for the helpful response, George. I now have the following shortcuts, which I think will be very well-used: Meta-E - Wrap in Tag Meta-Shift-E - Select Contents Ctrl-Shift-E - Select Tag Ctrl-Meta-E - Select Parent f -- francois@isotoma.com / Isotoma, Open Source Software Consulting Tel: 01904 567349 / Mobile: 07872 394273 / Fax: 020 79006980 Skype: fjordaan / http://www.isotoma.com Postal Address: Tower House, Fishergate, York, YO10 4UA, UK Registered in England. Wonderful, thank you so much! (I actually saw this one, but it had the same shortcut assigned as "Find all elements", which confused me into thinking I misunderstood it.)

I would really like a feature like that too. No reason why the same shortcut key can't have this behaviour. Anyway, my immediate need is met. Thanks again. f -- francois@isotoma.com / Isotoma, Open Source Software Consulting Tel: 01904 567349 / Mobile: 07872 394273 / Fax: 020 79006980 Skype: fjordaan / http://www.isotoma.com Postal Address: Tower House, Fishergate, York, YO10 4UA, UK Registered in England.
