Mac users: oXygen installer available through homebrew
Hi all, Mac users of the Homebrew package manager (http://brew.sh) may be interested to know that oXygen is now available. To update Homebrew and install oXygen: brew updatebrew cask install oxygen-xml-editor The cask was added this evening via https://github.com/caskroom/homebrew-cask/pull/28632. Joe Sent from my iPad
Hi Joe, thanks for providing that. Very handy! A quick remark: I ran the brew cask cmd and it says that oXygen was already installed and that there is no need for installation. So far, so good, but … after installation, oXygen was deinstalled. Another “brew cask …” installed it. Hi Franz-Josef, The problem you described has now been fixed: https://github.com/Homebrew/brew/pull/1899 To ensure you get this fix before testing the installation of oXygen via homebrew over an existing installation, be sure to run `brew update` then `brew cask install oxygen-xml-editor`. You will get this: ``` $ brew cask install oxygen-xml-editor ==> Downloading http://mirror.oxygenxml.com/InstData/Editor/MacOSX/VM/oxygen.dmg ######################################################################## 100.0% ==> No checksum defined for Cask oxygen-xml-editor, skipping verification Error: It seems there is already an App Suite at '/Applications/Oxygen XML Editor'. Error: nothing to install ``` And the original installation won't be overwritten. You'd need to manually remove the oXygen folder before installing it via homebrew.
