adding several tags around a highlighted item

Hi there, I was wondering, how other oXygen users are solving the following problem: While adding notes to a text, I would like to mark the word(s) that are to serve as anchors for the note and then the note itself, using something like <choice> <seg>Word</seg> <note>The word Word here has a special meaning... </note> </choice> Ideally, I would just highlight the 'Word', press some magic key that adds the <choice> and <seg> around 'Word' and then an empty <note> element after words and leaves the cursor within this new <note> element so that I can write the note. Is this possible in oXygen 9.3? If not, I would like to suggest to add something like this for future products, maybe as an extension of the template system? Any help appreciated, Christian -- Christian Wittern Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University 47 Higashiogura-cho, Kitashirakawa, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto 606-8265, JAPAN

Hi Christian,
While adding notes to a text, I would like to mark the word(s) that are to serve as anchors for the note and then the note itself, using something like <choice> <seg>Word</seg> <note>The word Word here has a special meaning... </note> </choice>
This is what sometimes tempts me to use another editor (jEdit), where scripting something like this is very easy. I asked for a scripting facility as an oXygen feature once, but was told it was unlikely to be added in the near future. Situations like these are really a very common phenomenon. Best, Peter

I would say definitely Take a look at Code Templates ( http://www.oxygenxml.com/intelligent_xml_editing.html#code_templates ) There is even a video http://www.oxygenxml.com/demo/codeTemplates/codeTemplates.html Regards, Xmlizer On Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 9:25 AM, Christian Wittern <cwittern@gmail.com>wrote:
