Skills allow organizations and individual users to extend the AI assistant with specialized modules for repetitive workflows, external tool and API integrations, best-practice enforcement, and domain-specific processes. To help you get started quickly, several built-in skills are included for tasks such as adding review comments, translating XML content while preserving markup and structure, and performing structured persona-based analysis across multiple audience perspectives. * *Advanced Reasoning with Claude 4.6 Thinking Models* Version 8.2 adds support for the new *Claude Sonnet 4.6 Thinking* and *Claude Opus 4.6 Thinking* models. These adaptive thinking models automatically determine how much reasoning is needed for each request, enabling deeper analysis for complex tasks while remaining responsive for simpler interactions. To improve transparency, the chat interface now displays a collapsible real-time summary of the model's thinking process when these models are used, helping you better understand how responses are being developed. * *Smarter Context Awareness and Transparency* Another important improvement is the AI assistant's smarter awareness of the current working context during ongoing conversations. If you continue a chat after selecting different content or switching files, the AI is now able to better understand the current context and respond accordingly. You also benefit from a *new context window size indicator* that shows the total context window available for the selected model and how much of it is currently being used, making it easier to manage larger and more complex interactions. * *Expanded Rich Content and File Analysis* This release significantly expands support for working with rich content and binary resources.
