Why, when using RNG (compact or XML) form (fully established on a document, such that pressing the "Validate" icon works fine), does the "tag insight" feature suggest elements that aren't valid in the current context? I thought that was the whole point of tag insight. Or does RNG not really work the same as a DTD or XML Schema? Cheers! --Chris Ryland / Em Software, Inc. / www.emsoftware.com

Hi Chris, The content completion driven by a Relax NG schema presents all the elements defined in the schema. We improved the Relax NG driven content completion support in version 4 by presenting only the elements that can be inserted inside a parent element. In the future we will add support also for presenting only the elements that keep the validity. See the following post for details about downloading an all platforms distribution of oXygen 4.0 beta: http://www.oxygenxml.com/pipermail/oxygen-user/2004-April/000200.html Best Regards, George ------------------------------------------------------- George Cristian Bina mailto:george@oxygenxml.com <oXygen/> XML Editor - http://www.oxygenxml.com/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Ryland" <cpr@emsoftware.com> To: <oxygen-user@oxygenxml.com> Sent: Sunday, April 18, 2004 12:20 AM Subject: [oXygen-user] invalid tag insight

Thanks for that information. So does tag insight using a DTD or an XML Schema work better right now? On Apr 18, 2004, at 4:07 AM, George Cristian Bina wrote:

Hi,
So does tag insight using a DTD or an XML Schema work better right now?
Yes, in case of XML Schema and DTD driven content completion oXygen presents the elements that keep the document valid in the current context. OK, no problem--I know you'll get there. Meanwhile, James Clark's recent nxml-mode in good ol' decades-old Emacs does support the RNG schemas directly, including full interactive validity display (that's a feature you might copy) and complete "tag insight".
