Setting up and configuring the Idiom FO Plugin in 9.2

Using 9.2 I tried to use the Idiom plugin to generate PDF. I had not done anything to the built-in framework. The transform scenario panel indicated that XEP was detected, but when I ran it I got a failure saying that it couldn't find xep/lib in /Applications/DITA-OT1.4.1 (this is on OS X). I did not have an /Applications/DITA-OT1.4.1 directory on my machine (although I had in the past). I did a search within the framework for "DITA-OT1.4.1" and couldn't find it. I then tried copying a working copy of xep from another Toolkit instance I had lying about into the framework's fo/lib directory, but no change. Finally, I created the directory it was looking for and put xep there and the PDF generation worked. Clearly there's something odd on my machine that is causing this problem but I have no idea what it might be. I'm afraid I found the online help for setting up the Idiom plugin a bit confusing (although I find the plugin itself a bit confusing). I didn't see any configuration settings that would have been pointing at DITA-OT1.4.1. Is it possible this is actually a bug in the plugin as distributed that was simply masked by the fact that the target directory exists on the machine(s) used to test Oxygen? I would have never noticed the problem if I had kept my 1.4.1 Toolkit around. Feature Request: Collapse All/Expand All/Expand One Level in DITA Map View

One of the really nice features of Arbortext Editor is the way you can control the expansion in their tree viewer: expand/collapse all or expand one level (they also implement a triple click that does the expand one level). For example, given a fully-expanded map, selecting the map element and doing "expand one level" would collapse all the children of the map so you only see the direct child topicrefs/topicheads. This is especially handy for very long maps. For example, I'm doing a lot of DTD documentation where I have the reference entries grouped by letter and there might be 150 or 200 separate entries under 20 or more groups. It can take a while for the map to populate all the navigation titles when I first open it, but if it was initially collapsed, it would populate the letter groups pretty fast. It would be really nice if this could be set as the default expansion for opening maps. I'm not sure if it would be practical to remember the expansion state of the map on save, probably not, but that would be handy too. Feature Request: Groovy Language Support

It would be cool if Oxygen could provide at a minimum syntax highlighting for Groovy language programs. Not a high-priority feature, probably but I've started using Groovy for doing scripting against Java APIs (I would probably use Jython myself but it wasn't my choice to make). More Java memory errors with oXygen 9.2

Hello, Using oXygen for a long time under Mac OS X, the new version (9.2) have more memory errors than previous version. It look like a memory leak. Since this version I pai really attention to the number of open file. But with only two open files but a lot opened and closed before, the memory error appears about every 3 hours of work. I know that I could change the memory allowed to oXygen, but the bug appears too. After more work but it appears. Did somebody else notice this issue ? Best Regards, Jacques

After choosing an attribute value for attribute scheme, I do get the correct list of allowed values. Feature Request: Combo List of Common non-ASCII Characters

I find myself needing to insert non-ASCII characters like em-dash and whatnot which is not really convenient to do in Author mode (in text mode I just type the numeric character reference) [while I work on a Mac, I usually use a Windows keyboard so the magic Mac keystrokes for inserting special characters are not available (as far as I know). Anyway, it would be nice to have a configurable pulldown on the tool bar that can be loaded with some number of characters for quick insertion. Would also be handy for authoring equations and whatnot. Feature Request: Drag Tabs to Project and DITA Map Views

I find myself wanting to grab tabs for open files and drag them into either the project view or dita map view in order to add them to the respective view. For the project, just add to the project. For DITA maps, create topicref to the file. That would make it easy to create a new file and then add it to map without having to go through the "add topicref" process. XInclude warnings in version 9.2

I just updated to version 9.2 build 2008050821. I have many XInclude tags in by Docbook document that include plain text code samples like the following: <programlisting><xi:include href='../code/output/actionmailer/generator_example.txt' parse='text' xmlns:xi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XInclude'/></programlisting> With the new version I'm receiving a large red warning in the author view like: Error parsing external reference: file:/Users/cody/writing/oreilly/book/code/output/actionmailer/generator_example.txt. Cause: The replacement of an 'include' element appearing as the document element in the top-level source infoset cannot contain characters. Is there any way to prevent this behavior? Map Editor: New Topicrefs Have Scope="peer"

I have been using the map editor by creating topicrefs to non-existent topics and then using the "topic doesn't exist, create new?" feature to create the referenced topic. The one problem I'm finding is that when I create the topicref, after I specify the URL of the target topic, the dialog sets the scope= value to "peer", which I then have to change to "local" so the reference will be correct. The URL I'm specifying is relative to the location of the map document, so the dialog should be able to tell that the target, while it doesn't exist, will be below the map's location (I can't think of any other way it would presume to guess whether a referenced topic is local or a peer). Alternatively, it should always take any relative path to be a local reference and any absolute path to be a peer path. Hi Rob, This behavior is configurable through a Java system property passed in the command line. You need to edit the oxygen.sh script to specify multiple instances to false, see also the comment in the oxygen.sh script about that: # Set multiple instances to false if you want to have a single running instance of Oxygen when # repeatedly starting oxygen.sh.
