interrupting and restarting an external tool script

I use bash scripts to run validation tests and build artifacts (I have an external tool called "build" that simply starts the bash script that has focus in the editor). I have noticed that if I start a script when another is running, there will be a failure of the first script, but then I am unable to successfully start any other script. It will return with error code 0, but not actually do anything. Is there a clean way to kill a script that is started in this fashion? Thanks, Tara

How to Search on Characters by Character Code?

Occasionally I need to search for specific Unicode characters, often characters that are not visible (for example, I just had an issue with character \u009D, (a control character that would normally never occur in a real XML document). I realized that I don't know how or if there's a direct way to search using character code. I worked around it by putting  in an XML file, switching to Author mode, then copying the character and using that for search, but surely there's an easier way? Hi Roderik, This looks quite hard to properly implement. You could probably use our StylesFilter API from a plugin: > http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-oxygen/#concepts/stylesfilter-plugin.html to dynamically add some static content before each image and table title. But you would still need to somehow compute that counter for each figure and title so you would need to go over the entire list of topics referenced in the DITA Map and count all occurrences of figures and titles which are before the ones from the current edited DITA topic. This would take a lot of time so you would need to somehow create a cache and update it when topics are edited and saved. And a topic can be referenced multiple times in the DITA Map, what counter number would you compute for figures and tables inside it? Hi, We need a way to automatically count images, tables, examples in topics grouped in ditamaps. I.e.: Map 1 Topic 1 Example 1.1 Example 1.2 Topic 2 Example 1.3 Example 1.4 Map 2 Topic 3 Example 2.1 Topic 4 Example 2.2 Example 2.3 Is this possible? xliff support

It’d be nice to have xliff support. Both in the filename & the author view. Currently, when I save, it always tries to rename the file with an xml extension.

xproc vs xslt

Hi, after some (more or less successful) experiments with xproc I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to implement everything in xslt and add the missing steps (for instance fop and schematron validation) as custom extension elements written in java. My argumentation: - Calling xslt from xproc you can only use string parameters (trying to fill in for instance a boolean parameter will result in conversion error) - The integration of xslt into oxygen "feels" much more advanced than that of xproc. - Direct output of messages from xslt (for debugging and logging with a link to the code that caused the output). (Running an xslt from xproc the xslt messages are not visible at all.) - I will have to add some custom extension written in java anyway. (So learning how to do it will be necessary in both cases.) oXygen users meetup @ XML Prague

We follow with 2 very interesting sessions, in the first one Radu Pisoi will cover possibilities to refactor XML using XSLT and XQuery updates as technology but though an easy to use interface and Octavian Nadolu will show quick fixes for XSLT and XML, including Schematron Quick Fixes where we have invited also Nico Kutscherauer who initiated the Schematron Quick Fixes idea. After lunch, we have another guest, Claudius Teodorescu, who will present an interesting way of creating oXygen frameworks - a project that allows defining frameworks with XQuery + HTML + CSS and then it generates all the oXygen specific configuration files. Alex Jitianu will show how to create user-friendly interfaces to authoring XML documents where the document itself becomes the entire user interface and he will also preview some of the new functionality that will be available in the next release of oXygen. In the last part of the day I will show you where we are now with the web-based editing that we introduced last year at XML Prague - the oXygen WebApp and we will close the day with an open panel where you can see what are our plans for the future and ask the oXygen developers any questions you may have about oXygen. Does anyone have a suggestion on the "best" way to modify artifacts (xsl, js, css, others) so that we can have a unique icon image for DocBook elements: book, chapter, sect1, sect, 2, sect3 ... instead of open/closed books? Hopefully in a manner where we don't have to customize the shipping artifacts. We're using oXygen 16.1. --Steve Bass Washington Publishing Company

Separate colour for external parsed entity 'tags' in 'Author' mode?

Would you consider supporting a separate colour for the indicative 'tags' for the start and end of an external parsed entity that are shown when viewing all tags in 'Author' mode? The background does change, and there is the rather small icon, but there are sometimes three or more tags (real and indicative, combined) on the lines at the start and end of an external parsed entity.
