Error when usings XPath on xslt

Hello, I am getting a strange error when attempting to use the XPath Evaluator on XSLT documents. The error is : Org.xml.sax.SAXException: There is no XML input file for XPath. Please set the "XML URL" in the transformation configuration. Thanks Peter

I'm glad to let you know that we just made a new release of Oxygen, version 4.2. The full press release is included below, however I want to point out a feature that relates with a thread on the list back in January. Then we prototyped the possibility to use different transparency levels for the document view depending on how far the text is from the center of the view. That turned out not to be really useful. Now we got I hope a really useful feature out of that, please try the Contrast Control action available from the toolbar. It will apply different transparency levels on either the text content or the markup in the document. This allows focusing on either structure or markup respectively. The press release follows. The content model, the element type, the attributes, the attribute type and constraints are presented in a compact manner giving the user an insight in the document schema while editing or browsing the document. XML schema annotations are extracted and presented for both element and attributes thus offering an instant help to the document author. * Content completion shows schema documentation The XML Schema documentation is presented by the new content completion support. The content completion offers now additional information for the element and attribute proposals. It will lookup the schema annotation and will make the documentation available to the author in a simple and elegant manner. * Annotated XML schemas To take advantage of the schema documentation support oXygen bundles annotated schemas for XSLT stylesheets and XML schemas. * Contrast control The contrast control options allow to change the transparency levels for markup or text. With a smart popup button located on the toolbar the user can easily change the focus of attention from markup to text and viceversa. The transparent markup option combined with locking the tags can be used for instance for safe and easy text only editing. * User control over the transformation in progress After starting a transformation a new action becomes enabled allowing the user to stop that transformation. Thus the user is in control and can decide to stop a time consuming transformation at any time. * Improved search support Support for finding all occurrences in a file was made available via the contextual menu and through a configurable shortcut. If no text is selected then the word at cursor will be automatically detected and searched for. * Breakpoint operations enhancements Added support to easily add, toggle or remove breakpoints in the Breakpoints Panel. * Allow to define XSLT extensions locations The XSLT processor's extensions paths can be specified using a system property. Please consult the user guide for details. * Ready to use JSP 1.2 XML editing support A new document template was added to allow easy creation of JSP 1.2 documents and the samples have now a JSP entry. XSLT debugger - Xalan extension - class not found exception

Hello, I want to try out Oxygenxml's XSLT debugging feature, but the debugger stops with a class not found exception for the Xalan extension I'm using. I did put my class files into the \eclipse\plugins\com.oxygenxml.editor_4.1_E3\lib directory, which works fine when I'm applying a transformation scenario outside of the debugger. How can I tell the debugger where my classes are? I'm using: Eclipse 3.0RC2 Oxygenxml 4.1 E3 Xalan 2.5.1 Xerces 2.4.0 Windows XP Java 1.4.2_03 Thanks, Achim

Xalan-J 2.6

Howdy all. I'm interested in some of the newer parts of EXSLT. These appear to be supported in Xalan-J 2.6 but Oxygen 4 ships with 2.5.x. Thus: 1) Are there plans to upgrade to 2.6 during the maintenance cycle of Oxygen 4? 2) If not, can I just drop in Xalan-J 2.6, or is there some other way to get newer exslt support? --Paul

how to develop a plugin

Hello, I'm new at Oxygen and probably someone has developed what I want. I want to know how can I develop one plugin for Oxygen, one plugin to connect a native XML database exactly. Is it posible? I want to know too if is posible to make one XSL to show to the user only the XML document's content. Is it possible to do a batch conversion using a transformation scenario?

Hi Last fall we did a large evaluation of HTML- and XML-editors with WebDAV-support, and sent you a feature request for secure webdav support, and we're happy that you have implemented this. I'm currently evaluating the oXygen editor, and is testing oXygen 4.0 under Mac OS X 10.3.3. I have a few questions about the transformation scenarios. I have used the xslt debugger to make an xslt stylesheet that does an XML2XML transformation. I want to convert a number of XML-documents that use a dtd to a new document structure using an XML schema. I have read the oXygen user guide, used the help system (which seems to be the same) and browsed through your mailing list archive and forum. After trying and failing a bit, the use of the transformation scenario and the use of macros is still unclear to me. I was hoping it would be possible to configure a transformation scenario to do a batch conversion, but I can't se how to do this. I hope you can tell me if this is possible, and how. Basically I want to do the following: Source files: file:/originalDocuments/*.xml XSLT: conversionRules.xsl Output: file:/convertedDocuments/${cfn}Converted.xml The use of the macro ${cfn}Converted would mean that a document with original name dok1.xml would be renamed doc1Converted.xml. Feedback and feature request: ------------------------------------------ (This is my personal feedback and feature requests, not connected to the evaluation I'm doing.) In the user guide you write that there are two types of scenarios: - applying to XML-files - applying to XSL-files It actually took a little time to figure out that the only way to change the type of scenario was to select a differt type of document as the active document. (to change between an xsl or xml document as the active document) Why not make only one "configure transformation scenario"-window which did not depend on the context? (With context I mean the dependence of the active selected document type.) To me the two types of scenarios just reflect two perspectives when working on a conversion. I think it would make much more sense to assume that for a transformation you will always need to specify the following: - a source (XML) - a transformation (XSL) - an output The source: ---------------- It should be possible to choose either an open document, a URI or a macro. It should be possible to specify a directory for batch processing of many files. The transformation -------------------------- It should be possible to choose either an open document or a URI to the XSL document. The output --------------- It should be possible to choose either - to open the resulting document in the editor - to specity a save URI - to specify a macro. It should be possible to specify an output directory and changes in filename for batch processing of many files. Best Regards, Are D. Not Automaticly Opening Files
