Classic responsive webhelp

Hi group I use oXygenXML Editor/Author to generate webhelp from my DITA-based content. I see that some customers still like the "classic" (but deprecated) webhelp, because they like to have the table of contents pane and the Search pane on the left when they view the webhelp on their computers. The classic webhelp, however, is not responsive. Is there an easy way (or does Synchro Soft has any plans) to add a "classic but responsive" transformation scenario? Thanks Yves

Invoking Schematron on XML document hat has attached XML schema

Hi, today I have been debugging some Schematron validation weirdnes. I have observed that if XML document has XSD schema attached using xs:schemaLocation then Schematron validation is invoked on PSVI -- ie. document model that has assigned types from the schema. So even if Schematron is for example comparing dates without explicit type cast: <assert test="StartDate < EndDate"> then this operates on xs:date types as they have been assigned from the schema automatically. Is that right observation? Jirka BTW, I don't think this is a bug, I have been just surprised as I was getting different validation results then I've expected on untyped document. Very limited memory for git difftool

I was resolving merge conflicts for a modest XML file of ~2500 lines. I was surprised when it ran out of memory; looking at diffFiles.sh I was surprised to see that the memory was limited to 512 MB (-Xmx512m). Shouldn't that default to a significantly higher value for the 64-bit install of Oxygen? I believe most of the vmoptions files set a default memory of ~4 GB. I changed my local copy but I know the next minor update will overwrite my changes. Thanks, Lee

Some table operations not supported on HTML tables used as informaltable in DocBook

Hi, I have realized that some table operations in Author are not always available. After some investigation it seems that problematic are informaltable elements in DocBook when they use HTML table model. If I create such table then for example operation "Join" is not available in toolbar/context menu. Everything works well on informaltables that use CALS table model or on normal tables using HTML table model. Only informatable with HTML table model has this issue. Is this bug or have I missed something? oxy|processing-instruction selector in Web Author

Hi, I'm implementing support for inserting manual line-breaks into content. This is done as processing instruction <?br?>. In an Author mode I can get reasonable rendering by using the following CSS rules: oxy|processing-instruction[br]::before { content: "["; } oxy|processing-instruction[br]::after { content: "]\a"; white-space: pre; } However in Web Autor these rules are ignored although I don't see this kind of usage listed as unsupported at https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/21.0.0/ug-waCustom/topics/webapp_css… If this is just undocumented limitation is there any other way how to implement this in Web Author? Hello, We are pleased to announce the release of Oxygen XML Editor version 21.0. See the complete list of new features here: http://www.oxygenxml.com/#new-version New in Oxygen XML Editor 21.0 ============================ The release of version 21 of Oxygen XML Editor adds numerous new features, updates, and improvements to the already robust, industry-leading XML editing application. The primary focus for this major release was to evaluate user requests for improvements and additions, implement as many of them as possible, while preserving the reliability, stability, and performance requirements that the XML community has come to expect from the Oxygen suite of products. Some of the highlights of the additions and improvements in version 21 include numerous new features and enhancements for DITA authors. For example, the DITA Reusable Components view was further enhanced with a new tiles layout and new filtering/sorting options, you now have the ability to preview images before inserting them, support for profiling attribute groups was added to make it possible to filter and flag content using values organized with hierarchical subcategories, DITA maps are now automatically re-indexed when opening them, submaps can now be validated while keys are gathered in the context of the root map, the application now comes bundled with the latest version of DITA-OT (3.2.1), and many other DITA improvements. Collaboration for your XML documentation review process is now readily available since the Oxygen Content Fusion connector add-on is already installed in Oxygen XML Editor. The CSS-based PDF Publishing support and the Oxygen PDF Chemistry engine also received numerous improvements and new features. For example, you now have the ability to add an Edit link in the PDF output and clicking the link will open the particular topic in Oxygen XML Web Author, comments and tracked changes can be displayed in the PDF output, both directly in the document and in the Comments or Annotations panel in PDF readers, support was added for various CSS properties, various transformation parameters were added or fixed, and many other feature requests were implemented. You also now have access to a new transformation scenario type to transform any XML document to PDF using CSS styling. A major effort was put into making the JSON support as robust as other document types. The Outline view was redesigned. It is automatically synchronized with the main editor, it presents validation errors, and the internal model was enhanced so that the document structure is displayed even if the JSON content is not well formed. Another major improvement was the addition of an intelligent Content Completion Assistant that is driven by an associated JSON Schema. You can define your own code templates that will appear in the content completion list, XPath expressions can be executed over multiple JSON files, you can transform or query JSON documents using XSLT or XQuery, various actions were added, and many other JSON features were implemented. The support for XSLT 3.0 and XQuery 3.0 was improved. For example, the content completion now offers more proposals for parameter values in functions, new XPath 3.1 functions are now proposed in the content completion, including documentation in a side window. The Compile XSL Stylesheet for Saxon tool also was improved to provide the option to use a Saxon configuration file to control the compiling operation. This major version includes numerous other new features and improvements, new API entry points or extensions, updates to various add-ons, component updates, and performance improvements. 'Restart' item in 'File' menu to restart oXygen?

The oXygen 21.0 Help lists 69 documents containing 'restart': https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/21.0/ug-editor/search.html?searchQue… Considering how often oXygen tells me that something won't take effect until I restart, it would be useful to have a 'Restart' item in the 'File' menu that makes it easy to do. It would be even more useful if the 'To apply these changes, you must restart the application.' dialog box included a button for immediately restarting the application.
