Alternatively, if they double-click on an already-rendered equation or image, the appropriate editor will launch. Editing Equations: If you are using MathFlow, your problems must be solved. Aren’t they? Editing Non-SVG-Images If you double click a graphic, it is opened by an external editor. This editor is the application, which is assigned to this file extension (at least on Windows). Editing SVG-images If you double click an svg, oXygen fragment editor is opened. I don’t know, if you can configure oXygen that referenced svgs are handled like jpg-graphics. Perhaps this could solve your problem if it’s possible. @George: is it possible to change this behavior? Let’s assume it’s possible: - Assign Inkscape (or any other SVG Editor) to svg file extension. - If an SVG is double clicked your SVG is opened in an external editor Creating Equations/SVGs So you need a solution/extension for creating a new graphic/equation: - Implement and author extension with oXygen SDK - This Extension - creates a rudimental SVG/MathML file - sets a link to your image-Element - opens the SVG/MathML file in your external edtior If you provide a parameter for this author extension, where you can configure the XML string for the rudimental file, you have your “unified” solution. Visio-Files Saving SVG and VSD files out of Visio is not a job of oXygen or any oXygen extension. If you want to do such automation you have to extend Visio, to save an SVG automatically, when a VSD is saved. Although Visio has an SVG import filter, it always creates a copy and doesn’t work on the original SVG file. So I think it’s not a good idea to open an SVG in Visio for editing. But I can imaging following XML based workflow, as VISIO 2003-2010 supports an Visio XML file format VDX. So you have to enhance the workflow above and provide a rudimental VDX xml string, which is opened in VISIO. Create a second, rudimental SVG file, too, which is referenced in your DITA topic. Tell your users they have to save vdx and svg format or implement a plugin for MS Visio which does this automatically, when vdx is saved. (Of course you can transform vdx to svg by XSLT, but this will be a hard work) Editing this SVG means to open VDX file when SVG is referenced. So you have set a flag somewhere, your extensions knows it should go a specific way. (Perhaps another file extension or attribute?) But take care: In Visio 2013 VDX is a zip container like pptx, docx a.s.o. BTW: Any SVG-Editor put’s its own stuff to the SVG (especially Visio). You will run into validation errors if you are using the embedding svg method. Don’t know if Batic has any problem with rendering this stuff in oXygen (referenced or embedded) or FOP. So I think perhaps it would be a good idea, to think about and XSLT postprocess, which makes a native svg version 1.1 out of that stuff. Hope this helps Markus

Hi Bob, I saw George already answered to your question this early morning. With the extension George mentioned you are able to edit embedded SVG images too. So if you add an empty SVG-Element to your content and execute that function, you are able to create a new SVG image. Thats not nice at the moment, but its not a hard work enhancing this functionality that way. This functionality works with any SVG editor (Inkscape and Adobe Illustrator are used in my projects) and it works with any XML flavor which supports embedded SVG (not DITA only). SVG images are always embedded to your XML content file and arent referenced to file system. Our first thinking of implementing this extension was a reuse of existing images in different contexts. You want to create one single image, enhance it and use it in different manners. As this SVG is embedded we dont think about any reuse. Perhaps in DITA it could make sense to enhance the reuse potential by using conref functionality, but this of course depends on the requirements, concepts and processes. Im not sure about your use case(s). Could you provide more information, please. conkeyref preview with nested conrefs

In the latest Oxygen, I stumbled upon an issue that may be a minor bug. Ultimately the preview for Insert Content key reference -> Sub-topic doesn't show the full contents if you nest conrefs. For example: I have a keydef to a collection of product names that contains: <ph id="line_BacT"><tm tmtype="reg">BacT⁠/⁠ALERT</tm></ph> <ph id="prod_Virtuo"><tm tmtype="tm">Virtuo</tm></ph> Then there's an item that nests the above two conrefs: <ph id="prod_NewBacTAlert"><ph conref="#concept_C8D50348E99740B484761C442690972C/line_BacT" /> <ph conref="#concept_C8D50348E99740B484761C442690972C/prod_Virtuo" /></ph> A conkeyref to prod_NewBacTAlert should display "BacT/Alert Virtuo" in the preview. Instead the preview is blank for that item. It still inserts properly and renders fine so it's only in the preview display. Has anyone tried to integrate an SVG editor (for example, Inkscape) into the oXygen UI such that the Insert > Insert Image dialog that pops up has an option to create a new image rather than referencing an existing one? If so, would you mind sharing the challenges, successes, failures along the way? marklogic debugging with oxygen

Hi, I'm trying to use Oxygen (v15) as a step-by-step debugger for MarkLogic. I've seen the video here: http://www.oxygenxml.com/demo/XQueryDebuggerforMarkLogic.html (thanks, George!) I have an XDBC server set up and use this to initiate the debugging process (right click on the server in the Data Source Explorer). However, when attempting to walk through a script, I see in the "Debugger errors" console the following error message: Severity: warning Description: Could not update breakpoints. They will not be in effect: The XDBC server used to send queries may not have its modules configured correctly. XDBC server name: setup, Modules database: file system, Modules root: c:/applications/kappav3/backend/src/. DBG-MODULEDNE: ns1:line(10246952917140151683, "/app/actions/fulltext/fulltext.xqm", xs:unsignedInt("42")) -- Module not found: /app/actions/fulltext/fulltext.xqm I'm wondering why this doesn't work. We keep the modules in the file system (at least during development), could that be a problem? The module in question is correctly located in the directory made up from the Modules root and the path ... Do you have any idea how to find out what the problem could be? cheers, Jakob.

Feature Request: Form Editing for <data> Elements in Default DITA CSS

It would be really handy to have either the default DITA style sheet or another built-in sheet be configured for form editing of <data> elements and specializations. I would expect that the @name and @value attributes would be fields. The content of <data> could be a field but because <data> may contain <data>, it's probably best to leave the content alone. Autocomplete for file paths in text mode--new?

With V15 I notice that if I start typing a URL or file path, e.g., in an @href attribute or something, that Oxygen shows me the available choices when I type a "/". I think that must be new, yes? In any case, it's very cool and will save me much time in the aggregate.
