Autocorrect smart quotes in editor mode? Or only author mode?

Hi, there, I was happy to notice that in version 15 you now have Autocorrect Preferences for autocorrecting smart quotes. But I'm not sure how to use it properly. First, does this autocorrect option only work in Author Mode? When you go in Author Mode, will it automatically change all existing quotes appearing in rendered text (as opposed to elements) into smart quotes? Second, a more basic question. Can I assume that whenever I am editing an attribute of an element that this Autocorrect option will not change it? Actually, a third question which is even more elementary. If I were to do a global substitution which resulted in attribute quotes as having smart quotes instead of normal quotes, would the parser still process it normally? I publish a lot of fiction by myself and others. I often do a lot of writing and editing both in editor mode as well as author mode. (I often don't notice what mode I am in). Output from an XSLT transform - other editor formats?

I'm transforming some content from XML to JSON. Oxygen has a nice JSON editor, but my transform output options, when opening in the editor, are limited to XHTML, XML, or SVG. Is it possible to open another editor variant from the transform? -- Steve

Preview of Illustrator EPS graphics in oXygen

Hi group I've got Illustrator EPS graphics in my DITA topics. I followed the instructions in this Help topic to install the Java Advanced Imaging(JAI) Image I/O Tools plug-in: http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-editor/tasks/author-image-rendering-jai.htm… However, I don't see a preview yet, even though my EPS file does have an 8-bit TIFF preview. My java.runtime.name is "Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment", so I downloaded jai_imageio-1_1-lib-windows-i586-jre.exe And I installed it in the folder which is specified in my java.home, namely: c:\program files\oxygen xml editor 15.1\jre Any ideas? Small bug

With Oxygen 15.1 I noticed a small issue today. Just for curiosity I tried processing my AHF styles with FOP. It produced some errors as I expected but one of the errors was pointing to an old help file. System ID: C:\dita\en\products\foo\temp\pdf\oxygen_dita_temp\topic.fo Scenario: BMX User AHF PDF Input file: C:\dita\en\products\foo\Foo_User_Manual.ditamap Engine name: DITA-OT Severity: error Description: The flow-name "even-body-footer" on fo:static-content could not be mapped to a region-name in the layout-master-set. Dear list, this is my first dabble with a document type framework and with the list, so please be lenient. a) I want to create an author mode action in order to change a certain attribute. I am using the ro.sync.ecss.extensions.commons.operations.ChangeAttributeOperation operation and have set the value attribute to ${ask('break=',combobox,('yes';'no';'maybe';'':'null'),'')} Now I would like to set the default value not to some static default but to what is currently present in the attribute. Is there some way to get the value of this attribute in the action's parameter definition? b) On a related note, is there a Operation in place that would allow me to just edit whatever is there as attributes in the current element - as one long, free-text string? The ChangeAttributeOperation seems to be able to change only one attribute, so for editing several attributes of one and the same element I have to define different actions and trigger them separately...? c) Finally, I would like to use i18n inside of the ask() variable, say for the message part. Is that possible? Sorry for asking three questions at once, I just hope they are so closely related that it makes sense to do it this way. Search functionality in insert Symbols dialog

Hi, I can't say I noticed exactly when you added it (I just upgraded to v15.1), but I thought I'd mention that the search functionality in the insert symbols (whereby you can locate your character by its name in Unicode) really rocks! Awesome! No more going on line for the Unicode tables. Little things can make really big differences. Addressing content from CSS in Author Mode

Hello, all! I hope some enthusiastic oXygen user can point me to how in CSS I can obtain a value from an element other than the element matching the CSS selector. This is a fragment of my CSS: frame { display:block; counter-reset:pane_count; } frame > title{ font-size: 2.0em; border-bottom: 1px solid #004477; } frame > title:before{ content: "Frame " counter(lesson_count) "." counter(frame_count) ": "; counter-increment: frame_count; } frame > title:after { font-size:.5em; color:green; content: attr(id); } At the very end I am exposing the @id, but my selector is in frame's title and the attribute I need to expose is in the parent frame element. I couldn't say attr(../@id) and I couldn't find a way of storing attr(id) in a variable in the frame's selector. A second problem is to expose different content with different appearances using one selector. I tried the following without success: frame > title:before{ content: "Frame " counter(lesson_count) "." counter(frame_count) ": "; /*content: "Frame " counter(module_count) "." counter(lesson_count) "." counter(frame_count) ": ";*/ counter-increment: frame_count; } frame > title:before { font-size:.5em; color:green; content: "XXX"; } ... because only the second selector was selected. I'll fix the "XXX" when I fix the attr() problem stated earlier. Any guidance on either of these two topics would be greatly appreciated! . . . . . . . .
