Shortcut key wanted: Select element contents

Two favourite shortcuts: 1. Meta-E, to wrap text in a tag 2. Ctrl-Alt-X, to remove tags Two shortcuts I crave: 1. Select the contents of an element (everything between the opening and closing tag of the element the cursor is in.) 2. Like Ctrl-Alt-X, but to delete the tag attribute under the cursor. I looked amongst the existing shortcuts, but couldn't find either. Saxon SA support in oXygen

Gentlemen, I am trying out features of schema-aware transformations. I am aware that one of the things SaxonSA is supposed to be able to do is signal errors when XPath expressions in your XSLT would resolve in empty sequences by necessity (given valid input), since the elements named would be invalid according to the given schema. (This is documented on pp 169-170 of Michael Kay's Programmers Reference, 4th ed., and elsewhere.) But I can't get this to work in oXygen. SaxonSA happily runs my transform without emitting warnings, even when I put spurious XPath in. On p 169 of the PR 4ed, Mike indicates that -val:strict has to be provided from the command line. In oXygen's Preferences, I can see how to set -val, but not -val:strict. Might that have to do with why this feature isn't working for me? This is just a guess, since Saxon does complain if input is not valid. Otherwise I'm completely in the dark. I'd be grateful for any tips. I'm still on oXygen 10; the version of SaxonSA is 9.1.0.3J. problem validating XML with XSD

Hi, I'm experiencing a problem trying to validate an XML produced as a back-up of a WordPress blog. I'm trying to process it with XSLT 2.0, so for that it seems I need to have a XSD schema (it doesn't like DTD). So I created a XSD schema through Document | XML Document | Learn Structure + Save Structure. I associated the XSD generated to the XML via Document | XML Document | Associate Schema. So the first two attributes are added to the root element <rss *xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" ** * * xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="VDS.2009-02-11.xsd" * xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:excerpt="http://wordpress.org/export/1.0/excerpt/" xmlns:wp="http://wordpress.org/export/1.0/" xmlns:wfw="http://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/" version="2.0"> and this line <?oxygen SCHSchema="VDS.2009-02-11.xsd"?> is added before the root element. After a while, I get another error message: Please restart after allocating more memory to oxygen. For this modify the parameter -Xmx in the startup script, for example -Xmx700m. In case you were running a diff tool when this problem occurred you can try to use another algorithm next time. For more details see the 'Performance problems' and 'Setting a parameter in the startup script' sections of the User Manual. If you just want to inspect the file, please use the Large File Viewer available from the Tools menu. Any help? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? External data from XQuery in Transformation Scenario.

I am new to oxygen and I was wondering if it is possible to setup a transformation scenario where it would take my local file then add some data from external XQuery processor and take resulting XML and hand it off XSLT Processor and then to PDF FO. Here is my scenario in more details. I have main input DocBook 5 xml file. That file contains most of the data that needs to go in PDF. However final PDF needs some data that is not in that XML. That data is stored in a separate set of files and needs to be selected using complex XQuery based on certain parameters. Those parameters are stored in main xml file in processing instructions. Is something like this possible? Perhaps chained scenarios where output of one is input to another. Sort of like Apache Cocoon with eXist. -- Sincerely, Mike

New From Template Opens In Text Mode, How to Make it Open In Author Mode?

I looked in the help and poked around in the options but I didn't see anything that determines whether or not a new document created from a template will open in Author mode or Text mode or Grid mode. Is there a way to control this? My desire is to have new templates open in Author mode. Customizing footers in output PDF

Hi, all. I confess that I'm something of an XSLT newbie. I'm working on customizing the output footers for our PDF documentation, and I'm having a difficult time of selecting the appropriate elements using XSLT. I'm trying to use the pagesetup.xsl stylesheet as a template, and I've been doing some work trying to construct the appropriate <xsl:value-of> selection. It has been somewhat difficult to use what should be a very simple selection: <xsl:value-of select="book/info/productname"/> The problem is that "book" no longer lives in the default namespace, but (it seems) in the "d" namespace: <xsl:stylesheet exclude-result-prefixes="d" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:d="http://docbook.org/ns/docbook" I've tried removing the "exclude-result-prefixes" item and trying several variations on the above value-of query: <xsl:value-of select="d:book/info/productname"/> <xsl:value-of select="d:/book/info/productname"/> <xsl:value-of select="d:book/d:info/d:productname"/> <xsl:value-of select="d:productname"/> And the like. I know that the rule is being triggered because I'm getting textual output in the resulting PDF. But so far I'm mystified about how to go about modifying the header with the product name and version. I am nearly certain the issue is namespace related, because I'm able to get xsltproc to transform the xml file using pretty trivial xsl. I've attached both.
