Hello, I have XML-files with "-quotes in the content of elements. If I open such a file, Oxygen always displays them as HTML-codes &quote; Is it possible to change that behavior, so that the original " are shown? Thanks. XSLT and id() function

trying to sort something out... XSLT (through XPath, I guess (http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath#function-id) has an id() function that, if I understand the docs correctly, will return the node (or nodeset, if the parameter is a nodeset of id strings) from the document that has the given id value. Great! Now, one problem. For that to work, apparently the id value needs to be declared as an attribute of ID type in a DTD. Bummer. See note in http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt#section-Embedding-Stylesheets. Ok, so I tried that, but Oxygen doesn't seem to find it. Does Oxygen (and/or XSLT in general, to your knowledge) support the id() function in XSLT? Can it work with an ID-typed element? My problem is that I am presented with an XML document that makes heavy use of IDREF type elements and I'm trying to transform them in XSLT. Perhaps there's a better way or I'm doing something wrong. Will post to xml dev list if this comes back negative. attached are my (hackish! just trying stuff out) xml, xsd, and xsl files I've been using to test. Note that in the xsl <xsl:variable name="onode" select="id(oid)"/> ids:<xsl:value-of select="$onode"/> "onode" is null (well, empty nodeset.) Thanks, Linus

debugging a java extension?

Hi! I try to debug a stylesheed transformation using Saxon 6.5.5. I wrote a small java extension class as transformation helper. I now receive a Nullpointer from within (it's still in development). Is there a possibility to debug the java class while stepping through the XSLT Debugger? Kind regards, Kai

Hello, I'm connecting oXygen to the eXist database via "Options / Data Sources". Works perfect. But just one question: Which protocol exactly oXygen uses for accessing eXist? Is it WebDAV? Or XMLRPC? shortcuts for special characters

Hello List, I've been using oXygen for a couple of years but mainly for text encoding, I don't really take advantage of the more advanced functionality. I apologize for this newbie question and I hope the answer is simple. I would really like to create shortcuts for some characters from the character map. There are three that I use often and it's a pain to have to cut and paste or use the character map every time I want to stick one in. I figured out how to set the menu shortcut keys and I was able to create a shortcut to bring up the c.m. but what I really want are shortcuts to insert the letters themselves. Any suggestions? pasting javascript

Hi, Great job on the new release! I was wondering/hoping there is a feature in oXygen that allows me to keep using the format on paste for XML, but have a way to turn it off for pasting something like javascript, velocity or similar script. I have tried putting the elements in the preferences for the 'Preserve Space', but whenever I paste the script loses its formatting and lines up at the first tab stop. For example create a new XHTML doc from the templates. Add a script element and paste the following: if (true) { alert('boo'); } Any way to set this up? best, -Rob

validation scenario for many files

Thank you very much for the *working with modules* feature in version 8.2. We have one XSLT transformation which is splitted into 182 files. Is it possible to give a wild card as target of the validation scenario? Because all 182 files are located in one directory tree. As workaround I looked at the Oxygen project file and wrote a little Java program to generate the <scenarioAssociation> elements for all 182 files. It worked partly. Some validation scenarios worked and some worked not. After I saved the project file again I saw that some <scenarioAssociation> elements, which did not worked, where removed. Regards Alfred

DTD validation and namespace prefixes

Hello, I have a Schematron schema that formerly was validating successfully against a DTD, but now with Oxygen 8.2, is failing validation. The Schematron schema begins <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE sch:schema SYSTEM "schematron.dtd"> <sch:schema xmlns:sch="http://www.ascc.net/xml/schematron" defaultPhase="done"> The DTD, schematron.dtd, begins <!ELEMENT schema ( title?, ns*, phase*, p*, pattern+ , p*, diagnostics )> As you can see, the DTD does not allow for the sch: namespace prefix on the <schema> element. Yet the validation used to be successful. Was the old behavior incorrect? Maybe I should just stop using schematron.dtd and use the Schematron-validator that Oxygen provides? Lars
