I'll try this out. At runtime, the log4j.dtd file is in the classpath, so I'm not sure whether we can change the system ID, but I will look into how to do this and have it still work with log4j. . Hello, I'm trying to add a simple catalog. I've read lots of doc and it seems that this should be straightforward, so I'm staring to feel like a doofus. (And tell me it's not a Mac problem...) I'm trying to validate a log4j.xml file which has the following first few lines: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd"> <log4j:configuration xmlns:log4j="http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/" debug="false"> Figured I would map the system identifier "log4j.dtd" to the actual file on my local disk, and I created a catalog.xml file with the following: <?xml version="1.0"?> <catalog xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:entity:xmlns:xml:catalog"> <system systemId="log4j.dtd" uri="file:///Users/john/Documents/oxygen/log4j.dtd"/> </catalog> I added this file to the list of catalogs and restarted OxygenXML. It always claims that the log4j.dtd file can't be found in the source directory containing log4j.xml. This leads me to believe that it never looks for the one I've defined in the catalog. I've tried all kinds of different URIs for the actual DTD location and nothing seems to work. Can someone provide some insight as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, . John -- p..s. Seems like this should work since I can hit the system ID fine with my browser.

Setting up catalog files for W3C XML Schemas

Hi, I have downloaded the schemas from http://schemas.opengis.net/ows/0.3.2/. The schemas refer to xlink which I already have on my system in e:/downloads/GML3.1/GML2004-10-29/xlink/xlinks.xsd. Rather than change the schemaLocation in the ows19115subset.xsd file I thought that I would use a catalog file to tell Oxygen 5.0 to find a local copy. The default catalog file in "Options => Preferences => XML Catalog" is file:/C:/Program Files/Oxygen 5.0/frameworks/catalog.xml. I edited this file by adding the following line: <nextCatalog catalog="e:/downloads/oxygencatalog.xml"/> and added the following lines in the e:/downloads/oxygencatalog.xml" file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <catalog xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:entity:xmlns:xml:catalog"> <rewriteURI uriStartString="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink/" rewritePrefix="GML3.1/GML2004-10-29/xlink/"/> </catalog> If I open all the ows schemas into a project and then try to validate the project I get the following error: http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/#src-resolve E src-resolve: Cannot resolve the name 'xlink:simpleLink' to a(n) 'attribute group' component. ows19115subset.xsd file:/E:/downloads/ows2/ows19115subset.xsd 111:43 Yet the "simpleLink" attribute group is defined in xlinks.xsd as follows: <attributeGroup name="simpleLink"> <attribute name="type" type="string" fixed="simple" form="qualified"/> <attribute ref="xlink:href" use="optional"/> <attribute ref="xlink:role" use="optional"/> <attribute ref="xlink:arcrole" use="optional"/> <attribute ref="xlink:title" use="optional"/> <attribute ref="xlink:show" use="optional"/> <attribute ref="xlink:actuate" use="optional"/> </attributeGroup> Am I not using the catalog file syntax properly or is there a mismatch between the ows XSDs and xlink? dtd=4.4b2 xsl=1.67-2 fop=saxon-6.5.3 jre=1.5.0_01 os=fc2 ide=oXygen-5.1 When attempting to chunk a document, the following error is generated: E ch01.html (Permission denied) However, a single html transformation utilizing the same same transformation scenario ( docbook.xsl in lieu of chunk.xsl) concludes without error. Upgraded to oXygen 5.1 from 5.0; vm = 1.5.0_01; os = CentOS (RHEL-3) Document | XML Document | Configure Transformation Scenario | Edit | Parameters Can no longer edit XSLT parameter values as default value (value1, 2 etc) are now constants; however no problem with inserting and/or modifying XSLT parameter names. Please advise. -- Ray

glossary.collection with catalogs

Hi, 5.1 All platforms (running on Linux) Had this working and now it's bust again. I want to do glossary.collection in Docbook [1]. I have added a catalog (did restart Oxy) <?xml version='1.0'?> <catalog xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:entity:xmlns:xml:catalog"> <uri name="file:///foofolder/gloss.xml" uri="file:///home/sean/work/syspro/common/glossary.xml"/> </catalog> In my doc I have <glossary role="auto"> <glossentry> <glossterm>Dummy</glossterm> <glossdef> <para>Now you see me, next you won't.</para> </glossdef> </glossentry> </glossary> In my custom layer I have: <xsl:param name="glossary.collection" select="'file:///foofolder/gloss.xml'"/> <xsl:param name="glossterm.auto.link" select="1"/> <xsl:param name="firstterm.only.link" select="1"/> <xsl:param name="glossentry.show.acronym" select="'primary'"/> Transform and Glossary is blank. Any ideas what I had right in 5.0 that I have forgotten to do in 5.1. Unfortunately I deleted my 5.0 install so I can't check.
