Eclipse and JIMI related questions

Buna George & Dan, A French user has the following problem : PDF output doesn't work with one of his DocBook documents when he uses the oXygen plugin for Eclispe 3.0 M7 (with JDK 1.4.2_03). It returns following error : "String out of range -1" (while it works good with oXygen standalone edition) He thinks it is a problem with some libs (xalan, xerces) of the JDK. He tried but didn't managed to use the "endorsed libs" mecanism. He has also another question : can JIMI be included in oXygen's FOP ? Code formating?

Hello all. Is there no way to format a document? I'm used to editors formatting (reformatting) code, and converting tabs-to-spaces or spaces-to-tabs as set in preferences. Does Oxygen not support this? Or do I not see it? Thanks.

Will one license work I want to run Oxygen sometimes in eclipse and sometimes as a standalone application? For that matter, would one license work if I want to run Oxygen in both Windows and Linux, but not at the same time? Sorry if this is documented somewhere, I didn't do an exhaustive search. Xpath Evaluator Bug?

Hello, Using this file, I was able to match the expression //xforms:group, however, I was not able to match the expression /html/body/xforms:group. When I copied the found xpath expression from the //xforms:group query (/html[1]/body[1]/xforms:group[1]/xforms:label[1]) , the expression would not evaluate. FOP Question

The following may well be only a FOP question but perhaps there is particular expertise on this list: Platform: Oxygen 3.0 on MacOS X 10.2.8. java version "1.4.1_01" I have a transformation scenario set up to produce a pdf. All is working well except some unicode characters are appearing as # in the resulting pdf. Specifically, ć - Latin Small Letter C with Acute and đ Latin Small Letter D with Stroke. These are both in Latin Extended-A. My encoding for all documents is utf-8 and many other unicode characters are coming through just fine. I've tried both Times and Helvetica and the problem persists. I saw the PDF file about adding fonts to FOP but am having problems with that. Number of glyphs in font: 180 Unicode cmap table not present java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0 at java.util.ArrayList.RangeCheck(ArrayList.java:508) at java.util.ArrayList.get(ArrayList.java:320) at org.apache.fop.fonts.TTFFile.createCMaps(TTFFile.java:449) at org.apache.fop.fonts.TTFFile.readFont(TTFFile.java:439) at org.apache.fop.fonts.apps.TTFReader.loadTTF(TTFReader.java:222) at org.apache.fop.fonts.apps.TTFReader.main(TTFReader.java:184) I am by no means a java expert but it looks like "Unicode cmap table not present" is the informative part of that output. A little bit of googling did not produce a ready answer. Again, I understand that this may not be an oxygen problem but would appreciate any suggestions group members might have. Hi all, I would like to ask you how you feel about adding the possibility to fade the lines that are not in the center of the attention in the editing area. Do you find this useful ? Please look at the snapshot below to get an idea of how this would look like. oXygen wish-list

Hi Oxygenites, I've been using oXygen for about six weeks now. I really like it. I agree with Norm Walsh that it hits a sweet spot. I hope it continues to be available on all the major platforms: that's a key feature long-term, I think. I upgraded the RAM on my Win2K machine so I could run it happily (for a long time I had been laboring every time I ran a serious Java application), and have found it all in all to be an excellent investment. What I particularly like is that oXygen is actually a file editor, although with many of the features one likes in a structured editor. (The code-insight feature is great!) This means that it's very flexible and forgiving with not-quite-yet-XML, which I find very useful. (I believe there's also still room in the market for a strong structured editor, especially since Corel's product seems to have taken a wrong turn, but that's a different kind of application in my view.) I am also a big fan of RelaxNG (though old-fashioned DTDs also have their virtues), and I like to oXygen's support for it. I've been collecting a list of things I'd personally like to see, though I can't say they amount to anything substantial. They're mostly user interface things that I have liked in other tools. (Remember it took me six weeks to think of all these!) * Operate a stylesheet with the "-a" flag (Saxon) or Xalan equivalent (that is, reading xml-stylesheet PI from document). * Set up a scenario with output file name or other parameters provided at runtime (with replacement expressions such as $Basename to use the source file's basename) * Add xslt to recognized extensions (or set your own). * Show me Saxon's error messages!? (Maybe I haven't got this set * Macros / tagging clips (eg paste in custom tag structure) * Enhanced outline views (oh you're working on this) * Improvements to Find/Replace dialogs o reposition and pin o using checkbox for "from top" is a pain, I'd prefer file wrap (or have it in addition) o a "replace all" button? (I am getting used to a two-screen- deep "replace" and like it for case-by-case, but also like a replace all in front) * Enhancements to Project interface o context menu "open in browser" o context menu "copy file name to clipboard" ...which all in all, ought to be enough requests from one user -- Congratulations on a fine tool! It provides extra cues to focus on the part of the document you are working on, without losing the context. However I would want to see how it behaves in the face of rapid scrolling - when you want to move your point of attention to a different part of the document manually, rather than searching. It almost gives the impression that the text is wrapped around a large drum, with the nearest lines being most visible. I also like the idea suggested by someone else, that it be switchable (presumably it can be switched off for those people who don't like it) to provide focus not by number of lines, but by the current document element. (It is hard to know which is going to be best without being able to try it out). Richard
