Displaying empty elements (or not)

Hi folks, oXygen supports the CSS3 selector :empty, so (for example) we can hide an element that has no content styled, in the Author View, for "preview", while showing it in an editing style. This is useful when, for example, editing documents whose schemas require elements in places where the user has no content for them. So if we have <sect><head/><p>Headless section</p></sect> we don't have to see anything where the empty 'head' element is, at least when oXygen Author is set to "No Tags". Unfortunately, however, since CSS isn't XPath, there's no way to suppress the 'sect' element, when we have <sect><head/></sect> (We can make the 'head' disappear but then we see a placeholder for the 'sect'.) I know the correct solution is not to deploy schemas that require elements that are not always used. But I wonder if anyone has a CSS workaround or an oXygen extension to suggest so that my oXygen XML Author preview can show something more like what the document will look like when it is formatted and the offending elements are dropped. Applying xml:lang across every file in map

Is there a way to select a map and apply an xml:lang across every file in that map to the main topic type tag? Thanks! feature request for syncing filesystem with webdav

Hi, we're using OxygenXML Enterprise for MarkLogic development, and it works really well (just wanted to say this). Here is a feature request of the "nice to have" category: Right now we're developing and running our Xquery modules from the filesystem. However, at some stage we want to run them from within a modules database. So we have to load them into the modules database probably using WebDAV or mlcp which is quite cumbersome. The temptation will be great to work directly in the modules database, via OxygenXML's WebDAV connectivity. If we did this we'd lose versioning via SVN as this requires the changes to be visible in the filesystem. If OxygenXML could watch a filesystem folder and sync it with a remote WebDAV resource (in the upload direction) whenever a change occurred, that would solve our conundrum. Until then we can of course use an external tool such as node.js + grunt.js (and its webdav-sync plugin [1]). While writing this, I'm wondering whether the "External Tools" in OxygenXML could provide a hook for grunt.js? Are there other ways of achieving this change-based synchronisation that we could use instead? thanks, Jakob. [1] https://npmjs.org/package/webdav-sync

Character Map feature requests

Hi again, In reference to the same project with the embedded Hebrew text, I and my user (and his users) have a couple of thoughts on extending the Character Map functionality even a bit more: * Make the Character Map available as a (dockable) View, not only from a toolbar button * Allow filtering by Unicode block * Support a user- or project-defined set of favorite characters I know the chances that these can already be done (only I haven't figured out how) are not zero.... Bidirectional support

Hi, I am helping a user set up oXygen Author for use with Hebrew, in which I am regrettably illiterate. (But I know something about oXygen and CSS.) These documents are not entirely or primarily Hebrew; they only have occasional bits of Hebrew in paragraph or mixed content. The support for bidirectional text in oXygen is getting really impressive. But I have one request that I don't know how to address, and don't know if it's possible. The users would like to be able to see the locations of the Unicode control characters for right-to-left, left-to-right, and 'pop', if not actually to color the text between them. Since CSS doesn't support character-level controls (tmk) I don't believe this can be done. Am I right? If I am, does anyone have ideas for possible approaches or workarounds? My user is aware that (a) in bidirectional mode, oXygen indicates with its cursor when there is a change in direction, and (b) that more functionality is possible if his users are willing to use XML markup and not only the Unicode control characters. BTW, it looks to me as though oXygen automatically inserts the Unicode controls when I insert characters from the Hebrew Unicode block. Is this correct? Will it happen even when I'm in a place already configured (using CSS on an element) that right-to-left is the direction? Thanks! DITA Map Metrics Report Enhancement Request: More About Conrefs

I really like the new map metrics report. But of course, I want moreŠ It reports the number of re-used elements (con refs) but it would be very nice to know, for each reused element, how many times it is reused. For example, I have a content set where I think every re-used element is used exactly once, which kind of calls into question the utility of re-use in this case (I think it¹s a side effect of how the original data was converted into DITA). authormode css, first-child pseudo class

Dear list, I am currently putting together a framework for our (TEI-xml) project. In this project, we are dealing with texts where every new line is marked by a <lb/> tag. With an author mode css stylesheet, I am reflecting this with a linebreak '\A' and a newline char ('?') inserted via the lb:before pseudo-class. Now I would like to suppress this mechanism for the first occurrence in a containing <p>, <head> or <item> element and have it executed only for the second and subsequent line beginnings. Without success, I have tried various things like this one: lb{ display:inline; -oxy-display-tags:none; } p lb:before, item lb:before, head lb:before{ content:"\A? "; } p:first-child:before, item:first-child:before, head:first-child:before{ content:"? "; } The suppression part mentioned above does not work. Can anyone shed some light on this, please? Adding company-specific words to the dictionary for a team

Hi I want to add a set of company-specific words to our English dictionaries for all the members of our team. I want to share them with everyone, and allow anyone to update them, possibly using SVN or Git for sharing the files, preferably using Ixiasoft DITA CMS to share them. We are using the Eclipse version of oXygen. What files do I need to share? I probably need to ask Ixiasoft how to go about sharing them most easily.
