It wasn’t that hard but it did use DITA for Publishers elements to capture all the JATS stuff that reflects publishing details for which out-of-the-box DITA does not have direct support. Unfortunately because this was for a client of a former employer I don’t think I can share it but I can say that the transform is only about 300 lines, although I’m not sure how complete it is. It looks like it was just trying to handle single journal articles, rather than a more complete book. But I wouldn’t image something to handle complete JATS books would be that much harder. Looking at the code now it’s mostly about mapping the JATS metadata to DITA metadata and then just mapping the content elements and structures to maps and topics, which is a pretty direct mapping. The oXygen WebHelp feature produces very good web presentations based on source documents in DITA or DocBook format. I have some documentation that was created in BITS format (which is based on JATS) which I would like transform into HTML using oXygen's WebHelp transformation. Also, since I am working with the JATS format quite often I would like to be able to write my documentation in JATS format and use oXygen's WebHelp rendering to produce an HTML version. So my question is, what would need to be done in order to produce WebHelp output from JATS or BITS? Can the WebHelp transformation be extended to use a different XML format as input, or would it be easier to transform JATS to DITA or DocBook and then run the WebHelp transformation? CSS background color based on text matches

Hi, We've had a request from an author to make the formatting in the Author view indicate when the text of a certain element type does not match the text of something else found inside the same topic. I can do this via Oxygen CSS, but I am concerned that the processing slows down the opening of large documents. I'm not convinced that CSS is a good way to address the underlying requirement about helping authors detect when something does not have a textual match as expected (e.g., maybe Schematron or a build warning would be more appropriate). Before I give up, though, I wanted to see if anyone had specific ideas or techniques I might have overlooked. I want to run a simple XSLT script against each of about 50,000 small RDF files, sending the output to a single file. I can do it at the command line, but I'd like it to complete within my lifetime, or preferably before lunch. Is there a better way than saying "for f in *.rdf; do saxon $f mystylesheet.xsl >> output.xml; done" ?

Does xref no longer show the xreflabel of the target?

Hi, <link> shows the Text etc that has been entered by yourself, while <xref> shows the xreflabel, I thought. However, oxygen behaves strangely: (vergl. auch Kap. <xref linkend="Ch08.SS.GProteins"/>) is the text, however, what is shown in author mode is the following. The corresponding text in the other file is shown below. Support for Master file is enabled. Checking other situations I found that xrefs to the same document are correctly shown, while to other documents are not. When I look in the full master file the xreflabels are shown. What is missing? What do I wrong? Please point me to ways to evaluate. How to type an UTF8 symbol in text as well as in author mode

When I soaked my keyboard with tea, I had to by another one. I settled for the logitech G910 which has some additional function keys. I have already three of them in use for "text mode", "author mode" and a macro for citations. Now I want it to use for nonbreakable space (U+00A0), and nonseparable hyphen (U+2011). To this I need to know how to enter those codes (and any other UTF8 code) with a normal keyboard. Please advice. I have tested with alt + 194 160 (on the keypad) but end up with r; alt + 160 is á. It should be "space". Using entities would differ between text and author mode, which I would like to avoid. Spurious /> in text mode

Hi, in text mode of Oxygen editor when trying to add to e.g <entry/> I type a ">" and end up with <entry></entry>/>. There is alway this spurious /> at the end of the line. Is there a reason for it? The same is true for <para/> and any other tag so far I have tried. I think this is a bug. Some UTF8 signs not transformed into PDF

DITA constraints: reject attribute values?

Hi group The cc_config.xml file seems to be handy to apply DITA constraints (although I could imagine easier ways, such as some kind of wizard, for example). I see that it is possible to "reject" elements and attributes: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/18/ug-editor/topics/configure-elemen… But is it also possible to reject attribute *values (without having to create a DITA specialization*? For example, suppose I want to restrict the list of the @type attribute for the [note] element. I only want to see the values: warning, caution, tip and notice and "hide" the others (fastpath, restriction, danger, important...) Is there an easy way to do this? I think it would be nice if we could have some kind of wizard which presents us a list of DITA elements and attributes (and their values) where we would just select the elements, attributes and attribute values we need (using check boxes to select or deselect). And we also need to be able to show or hide complete domains, similar to what is described in the DITA Style Guide: https://www.oxygenxml.com/dita/styleguide/webhelp-feedback/#Artefact/Docume… (A bit weird to see a screen shot from a wizard in XMetaL published in the DITA STyle Guide on the oxygenxml website ;-)). I'd like to convert Xml Schema's directly to Sql Table scripts and simple CRUD operations. I will write my own stylesheets to do this but figured I'd check first with support to see what is available. Unfortunately when you Google it, only the "other" product pops up as having a solution. Java updates

Hello, So apparently Oracle are planning to EOL JDK 1.8 in September this year. In addition to this, I tend to nuke the builtin version of Java bundles within oXygen in .install4j/jre.bundle and replace it with a symlink of .install4j/jre.bundle pointing to the system wide install at /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/current (which is itself a symlink pointing to the current version. So currently the oXygen installation contains this: bash-4.4$ ls -l /usr/local/oXygenXML/stable/oxygen/.install4j/jre.bundle lrwxr-xr-x 1 ben wheel 41 20 Dec 08:16 /usr/local/oXygenXML/stable/oxygen/.install4j/jre.bundle -> /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/current bash-4.4$ ls -l /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/current lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 50 1 Nov 03:18 /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/current -> /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_151.jdk bash-4.4$ What I need to know is: 1. Whether or not it's safe to update the system wide JDK to 1.9 (aka Java 9) for oXygen 19.1. 2. Has oXygenXML Editor 19.1 been tested with JDK/JRE 1.9? 3. If so, are there any known issues affecting oXygen with JDK 1.9? 4. If so, would it be best to stick with JDK 1.8 for the moment? imagemap increases the size of the image in the DITA responsive webhelp transformation

Hi group I'm using oXygen XML Author 19 and the responsive webhelp transformation, similar to this one: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/19.1/ug-author/ topics/create-new-project.html The output looks nice but I when I use an imagemap, I see that the image becomes a lot larger in the output. The result is that the navigation pane on the right overlaps part of the image. Is anyone else seeing this? Any way to avoid this? Cheers Yves

Is there a way to export the results of a Diff Directories?

Hi, Is there a way to export the results from a Diff Directories command in XML or Excel or some other formats? I would like to have at least a list of the files in the directories and the number of differences in each. If not, how can I file an enhancement request for that functionality? Xreflabel not shown in xref's

Hi, I noticed some strange things with xrefs. The picture shows how the epub (produced without any outside help) shows it. The English text "the section called" is very strange and added during processing. The original xml is (<varlistentry> <term>Beschreibung</term> <listitem> <para>(vergl. Abschn. <xref linkend="Ch14.SS.GeneticDefects"/>).</para> </listitem> </varlistentry>) and the target: <sect2 xml:id="Ch14.SS.GeneticDefects" xreflabel=""><title>Genetische Ausfälle</title> It is not always that "the section called" is added, there seems to exist some ambiguity. New Git plugin for Oxygen

Hello everyone, Those of you that are using Git might be interested to know that there is a new Git plugin for Oxygen [1]. If you want to give it a try, it can be quickly installed through Oxygen's add-on support [2][2.1]. In the beginning we focused on the essential functionality, the operations that are performed often, like committing, pulling changes etc. Another cool feature is the use of Oxygen's Diff tool [3] to highlight the changes. Moreover, if the file is in conflict (has been modified both by you and another), Oxygen's Three Way Diff [4] will show a comparison between the local change, the remote change, and the original base revision. Please let us know if you have any suggestions about how to make it better or what other functionality is worth adding. How to manage citations?

When entering a citation key e.g. Gei04 in author mode, I have to type 1. Gei04 2. Shift-left (to mark the entry) 3. Ctrl-E biblioref 4. Ctrl-X 5. Alt-Enter 6. l (letter L for linkend) 7. Enter 8. Ctrl-V 9. Shift-left 10. Ctrl-E citation Is there a other way which would not involve so many different steps like a macro?
