framework behave differently between 15.2 and 18

Hello, - long - time ago, I made enhancements in xspec framework, to give a property to ant file : project.location p I add a antParameter to antScenario, name="project.location", value="${pdu}", and in the build file, I just echo the property : <echo>project.location=${project.location}</echo> This works perfectly in Oxygen 15.2, but in 18 beta, project.location property is not set. Does something changed from 15.2 to 18 ? Or did I do something wrong ? Attached, the two xspec.framework files, and the build.xml located in 18/ folder. On-the-fly validation of (X)HTML5 using the v.Nu REST API (was: Creating a RELAX NG datatype library .jar for use with the v.Nu schemas)

Hi Ben et al, Following up on my post on 2016-03-18: > I have some thoughts about [...] the RELAX NG schemas being usable as-is across editors/tools, while the required datatype .jar needs to be built to match the editor/tool - but they'll keep for now. I now have some thoughts to share about that; and some software, too. I've been playing with the schemas from v.Nu in various tools, including editors such as Oxygen. But the implementation-specific nature of the required datatype library irks me; it's proven to be a barrier, or at least a nuisance. I decided to experiment with the v.Nu REST API (HTTP interface): no need for an external datatype library, because it's bound into v.Nu. You get the full benefit of v.Nu validation (including Schematron), not just the RELAX NG schemas. And, as long as the HTTP interface is still supported, it doesn't matter if the underlying validation technology used by v.Nu moves away from a RELAX NG schemas. Based on those experiments, I have developed and published a linter provider for the Atom editor that uses the v.Nu REST API: https://atom.io/packages/linter-vnu If you're interested in editing (X)HTML, watch the animated GIF on that page showing on-the-fly validation. I have decided not to pursue creating (or rather, creating and then maintaining) editor/tool-specific datatype libraries based on the definitions in v.Nu. I'm going to leave that to the developers of each editor/tool. If the Oxygen developers judge it to be worthwhile to support validation of (X)HTML using (what a member of the v.Nu development team describes as) the "canonical" schemas, then they can provide a datatype library (.jar) that works with Oxygen. It's up to them; their choice. (Or up to individual Oxygen users who want to do this.) I hope that the related work I've done, documented at: https://github.com/unsoup/validator will prove useful. Alternatively, the Oxygen developers could consider using the v.Nu REST API, as I've done for the Atom editor. Catalogs, XML Calabash and Saxon

Hi, I have a catalog set up for my project, which calls another catalog on my system, which resolves FPIs to paths. When I validate a document calling one of the DTDs at the far end of this chain, it works -- oXygen finds the DTD and validates the file. Same thing when the same document is called in via the collection() function in an XSLT - the file parses. (Plus, I know the DTD is looked for and found because if I break the link by changing the FPI, it is not found and I get an error. Plus if I set oXygen to show me its catalog lookups, there they are.) However, when I run the same stylesheet inside an XProc pipeline run by Calabash inside oXygen, I get an error "this document will be excluded from the collection" and a message to the effect that the DTD could not be found. What am I missing? Apparently while XML Calabash will use the catalog, and Saxon will use the catalog, Saxon-inside-Calabash will not? Does anyone have any insight or workarounds to share? [XML Editor 18.0, build 2016031809] Selection mode while double click on a string with dot

Hi all, It seems the selection mode while double click on a string with dot has changed. Until version 17 a double click on this kind of string selected only the word until the dot (as it would be a separator). Now with the 18 version, the default behaviour is the selection does not stop at a dot. Is it a desired change ? Can I change this behaviour in settings ? Thanks Lancelot

[XML Author] Problem with copy/past

Hello, Since this morning, I can't past a text that I copy from another editor (Word or Textedit). I can't explain what's append. I didn't do any change in options. Creating a RELAX NG datatype library .jar for use with the v.Nu schemas

I forget to mention in my previous post: I've run Oxygen XML Author with oxygenDebug.bat and with the log4j.properties specified on the Oxygen website (to write logs under my desktop), but the only error I see when I use "my" .jar is the same one I get when there is no datatype .jar present: > E [Jing] datatype library "http://whattf.org/datatype-draft" not recognized It's as if my .jar is being ignored. This is partly what prompted my niggling thought that perhaps Oxygen has some persistent parser cache that expects the other jar (from the jEdit XML plugin developer that I used first); but if so, the stickiness is deeper than just the .jar file name, because I get the same behavior when I use the same .jar file name. If I close Oxygen, replace my .jar with the .jar from the jEdit XML plugin developer, and restart Oxygen, then I don't get that Jing error, and validation works using the v.Nu schemas that refer to those datatypes. I need to investigate whether I can turn on additional diagnostic options for Jing that might indicate whether or not my .jar is being used. I'd appreciate advice on that. (I've had confirmation from the jEdit XML plugin developer that all he did was to cut down the vnu.jar.) Creating a RELAX NG datatype library .jar for use with the v.Nu schemas

Revisiting some similar threads from several years ago... I want to use the Nu Html Checker (v.Nu) RELAX NG compact syntax schemas with Oxygen XML Author to edit XHTML5 documents. I'm using Oxygen XML Author version 15.2 on Windows 7. I'm already editing XHTML5 documents with the v.Nu schemas in another editor, jEdit, thanks to a jEdit XML plugin developer who has supplied me with a .jar containing the required datatype library. Good news: I can drop that .jar into the Oxygen lib directory, and everything "works": I point to the v.Nu schemas (that refer to a custom datatype), and Oxygen validates my XHTML5 documents. Bad news: I'm unable to re-create that datatype .jar myself, hence this email. I've cut down the release vnu.jar (which is what I believe the jEdit XML plugin developer did) to create a .jar containing just the classes (and other embedded data files) required by the datatype library (to avoid introducing classes that might clash with others in the classpath) to exactly the same set of files, and I've compared contents (including decompiling classes). I can't spot any significant differences between the two jars. But his works, mine doesn't :-(. And yet... both jars (mine and his) work in jEdit. So, I'm confused. To me, the most obvious answer is: there's something wrong with my .jar that I'm overlooking, that, for some reason, matters to Oxygen but not to jEdit (I haven't compared Jing versions in each product). Still, I have this niggling feeling that my jar might be okay, and that Oxygen has cached something to do with the custom datatypes in a way that requires the original version of the datatype .jar I used (from the jEdit XML plugin developer). I just don't know where that cache might be. I've deselected "parser caching", but I haven't seen any option to "clear parser cache". I'd appreciate advice on any of this. In particular: - Is my niggling feeling about parser caching just wishful thinking? Or is there a parser cache (that persists between Oxygen sessions) that I can clear? - Can someone provide me with steps that I can reproduce to cut down a release vnu.jar to, say, a vnu-datatype.jar that works in Oxygen? No highlighting for dropdown selections in Eclipse

Dear collegues, I'm on Oxygen 17.1.0 in Mars.1 Release (4.5.1). I lost my highlight on selections in Eclipse. Anyone, how do I get dropdown highlighting back? Is this an oxygen or eclipse thing? However, I noticed that with this patch it is compulsory to specify the @xslt-versionwith the value '3.0' when testing an XSLT 3.0. If the attribute is not provided, the Oxygen ant file complains that XPath 3.0 is needed to run the test. If the patch is changed from: <stylesheet version="{( @xslt-version, '2.0' )[1]}"> to: <stylesheet version="{if ( @xslt-version, '3.0' ) then '3' else '2'}"> the XSpec test runs correctly even if @xslt-version is not provided. I wonder if this implementation may be more suitable as it does not force to specify the @xslt-version in the XSpec test, one only needs to specify the XSLT version in the actual XSL stylesheet. It also seems to me more consistent when writing XSpec tests for XSLT 2.0 as it is not required to specify @xslt-version in the XSpec test. Unfortunately I'm unable to test this implementation when running XSpec from the command line as XSLT 3.0 requires saxon9ee.jar (I only have saxon9he.jar available). math and color

Good morning, in Author mode I work with math-Elements using Math-Flow. In some circumstances I would like to color some of the math Elements. Some of them should be black, as they are usually. Some of them should be blue – if they are descendants of the Element »Lösung«. I try to change the color in my css – but they remains black. What can I do? Hello Oxygen guys ! I would like to re-use generate-xspec-tests-oxygen.xsl in a separate project (xspec-maven-plugin enhancements, under MIT license). Oxygen team has made improvements to XSpec implementations (http://github.com/expath/xspec/) and have added this file. XSpec implementation is licensed under MIT license ; as there is no license header on this file, does generate-xspec-tests-oxygen.xsl is licensed under MIT license too, or is there another license for this particular file ? Multilingual Schematron messages?

The "Schematron & Schematron Quick-Fix In oXygen" session at the oXygen Users Meetup at XML Prague 2016 (http://oxygenxml.com/events/2016/oXygen-user-meetup-Prague.html, but page title says "Prague 2015") is to include "multilingual messages". A few hours ago Ute Recker-Hamm posted a wonderful question to TEI-L, the main list for the Text Encoding Initiative.[1] She basically asked "what do y'all do to get your physical lines, as encoded with the empty TEI <lb> element, to line up nicely in oXygen?". I remember asking a similar question a few years ago, and vaguely recall being told that manipulating the options under "Preferences > Editor / Format / XML" (in particular the "Preserve space" and "Default space" lists) should get format-and-indent to do the trick. However, I recall that I never got it working to my satisfaction, and when I look through the archives of this list now, I can't find the answer I recall. So what is "it" that I want format-and-indent to do? When given a text that looks like this: view A ---- - I call our world Flatland, not because we call it so, but to make <lb/>its nature clearer to you, my happy readers, who are privileged to live <lb/>in Space. I'd like it to end up formatted as it is now -- with each <lb> starting a new line. If the desired line length were long enough, it wouldn't be changed at all. If the desired line length were shorter, it might look like this: view B ---- - I call our world Flatland, not because we call it so, but to make <lb/>its nature clearer to you, my happy readers, who are privileged to live <lb/>in Space. Not indent elements with 'linefeed-treatment="preserve"'?

Is there a way that a framework can make oXygen not reindent elements that have 'linefeed-treatment="preserve"'? http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/17.0/ug-editor/#topics/preferences-ed… says that elements can be added to the 'Preserve space' list, but "*[@linefeed-treatment='preserve']" isn't a 'simple node test' and seems to be being silently ignored. Even if it did work, it can't be set by the 'focheck' framework. (Separately, the ability to edit an item in the list, rather than having to make a new item based on an existing item then deleting the old item, seems to me to be useful.) http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/17.0/ug-editor/#topics/format-and-ind… says that it can be done with CSS using 'white-space: pre', but *[linefeed-treatment=preserve] { white-space: pre; } is having no effect on Text mode 'Format and Indent Element' results. (Separately again, is there a key combination to insert a line break that doesn't also insert indenting white-space?) oXygen to WordPress

Hello, So I stumbled across this post from a couple of years ago: https://www.oxygenxml.com/pipermail/oxygen-user/2013-August/004754.html Basically just asking for a feature to update a WordPress blog and said request being forwarded along. I've got two questions: 1) Did it become a feature? 2) If not, now that WordPress supplies an optional JSON based REST API, could the request be revisited since it ought to make it easier to make the two things play nicely together? WordPress API documentation: http://v2.wp-api.org/ I've only looked at it briefly, but it's REST so it can't be that hard, not as far as communicating with the server is concerned, at any rate. I've done a few client-side interaction things like this at times; mainly grabbing Bitcoin and/or currency live data and playing with the Twitter API so from my perspective the worst case scenario is making the right HTML template to play nicely at the other end and adding a few Python scripts (well, of course, by now everyone saw *that* language preference coming). Still, there's a lot to be said for "point and click" if it just works. Although the Github repositories also include command line tools and a console for the thing, so chances are integration could be reduced to calling the relevant commands to do whatever. The rough edges at the moment appear to be limited to generating the OAuth credentials, but that's not a huge chore for most WordPress admins. XML Calabash (within Oxygen) is configured to use Saxon-EE. A Saxon configuration file is located in Oxygen\lib\xproc\calabash\lib\saxon.config. This can be used to set the edition of Saxon (EE/PE/HE) and various Saxon settings. AFAIK, the command line XML Calabash bundles and uses Saxon-HE, but can probably be configured to use other XSLT engine implementations (Java). > (2)Can I control which engine is being used within XProc? For XML Calabash within Oxygen you can only control the edition of Saxon being used. See the saxon.config file I mentioned above. You can set configuration/@edition="PE" or configuration/@edition="HE". If you're using XML Calabash in the command line (independently from Oxygen) I suspect it's possible to use various javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory implementations, but don't have a clear configuration path for that. In theory, if the XSLT engine implements the javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory service, it should also advertise it, so it should work by simply replacing one XSLT engine .jar library with another in the Java classpath.
