combining oxy_editor with oxy_attributes()?

Hello, I use Oxygen XML Editor 15.2 and wanted to create an easy to handle Author-View for my Colleagues. Therefore I wanted to output the names of the elements and all used attributes. It was OK with this code: content: "<" local-name() oxy_attributes() ">"; Then I discovered the really cool oxy_editor()-function! Is it possible to combine these two functions, so that I get all attributes of an element and tell them to be a combobox or a textfield or a …? 15.2 oxygen doesn't recognize large files

Direct XML presentation?

recursive author actions

Dear all, I have an author mode action which I want to behave recursively, but this does not seem to work. Can I do something about it? Here is my action/use case: I want to edit TEI xml documents and add expansions to abbreviations. When I select a text and trigger my action, it surrounds the selected text with an <abbr/> element, adds an <expan/> element the content of which is queried in a dialogue box, and surrounds both of these elements with a <choice/> element. Now, when someone has edited the document before and has marked something as being an abbreviation, but has not noted its expansion, the selected text already is an <abbr/> element. Using a second action mode and the ExecuteMultipleActionsOperation, I want to catch this, strip the <abbr/> and re-add it along with the whole rest of the construct. Strategies for preserving Java settings when upgrading oXygen?

Because I often work with large XML files, I need to modify the default Java settings for oXygen to allow more maximum memory (-Xmx4096m instead of the default 1024 usually). In the Mac environment, this is easy to do by editing the Info.plist file, but I always forget to do it when I upgrade oXygen and only discover it when opening a large file causes problems. Does anyone have a (semi-)automated way to preserve settings like this, or should I just try to remember? (I could put a file in the oXygen directory called "000_REMEMBER_TO_INCREASE_JAVA_MEMORY.txt" !) An example of xd documentation in xquery?

I'm doing a bit of xquery work and I want to take advantage of the excellent xd documentation facilities but I don't see an example of how to add the content to an xquery document. In a new XSLT document I know I need to add the namespace, then I can go and add <xd:doc> elements, but in XQuery I don't know how to do the equivalent. Can someone share an example xquery file with embedded doc? Thanks, Steve

XML Data Transfer

Radu Coravu et al Does oXygen include or is there available a utility to move data from an element in one XML page to a second identical element in another XML page? The two elements not being required to be at the same location in their respective XML pages or to contain the same data. Could this be done in one step for all such elements in a pair of XML pages? I test my XSD1.1 schema designs by generating XML pages and subsequently manually filling them. If one goes through many iterations, this becomes painful, tedious and expensive. Thank you. AuthorMode, open selected word in default app (browser)

Dear list, I am working on an author mode/document type framework and I would like to allow my users to select a word and open a browser with the selected word at some place in the url. (like e.g. http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/morph?l=MYFUNNYWORD&la=la) Can I achieve this with the ro.sync.ecss.extensions.commons.operations.OpenInSystemAppOperation operation, and if so, what should its parameters be? (Ideally, a somewhat similar command could open a default link for the current document, the ID of which it would read from some XPath. E.g. google for the title and author of the current document.) Problem with Saxon's EXPath/file:exists on Mac

I expected the result is <test>file:/Users/Stf/Documents/trash/file-exists.xsl: true/true</test> but actually it is <test>file:/Users/Stf/Documents/trash/file-exists.xsl: false/true</test> Since I get the expected result from Oxygen on Windows, I think there is something wrong with the Mac implementation. I use XML Editor 15.2, build 2014022718 on Mac OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) with java.version=1.6.0_65. The transformation scenario uses Saxon-PE, and Saxon’s »-ext«-option is checked. Signed executables in Oxygen

Hi, It would be great if all the executables in Oxygen (especially in the All platform and Windows versions) were signed for security purposes. We are having a bit of an issue whitelisting the various executables individually because we are unable to find any signage on some of the executables - like "huntspell.dll", "dotNetValidator.exe" etc. Regards, Nathan

Right, but it is still not theirs. It is third-party software (at least hunspell). Note that I'm not familiar on the proper mechanics of signing software, just raising a point that this seems dodgy.

vmoptions reset after oom-exception

Lobbying for a new feature to save on indentation

Fellow oXygen users, I've just learned that a request for a new feature I made long ago is getting stale because not enough people have expressed an interest in having it added to the software. Perhaps this is because people haven't considered how helpful it might be, so I thought I would lobby here that if you like the idea of this feature you might vote for it as well. In all my SGML and XML editing it has been my preference to keep children of the document element un-indented and flush left, starting the indentation only with the grandchildren of the document element. I see no utility in indenting the children of the document element since it is unambiguous if an element at the left edge is a document element or not: if there is element or text content before the start tag or after the end tag, then the element must not be the document element. It may not sound like saving one indent is a lot, but consider the file size since that one indent is saved on *every* line. Also, it saves one indent for those of our files (in particular the XSL-FO files I review by eye to debug) are indented way over to the wrap position. The software currently indents children of the document element using the preference for indent width ... I suggest a new preference checkbox (by default set one way or the other to preserve existing behaviour), where the user can indicate the preference such that indentation starts with descendants of children of the document element, thus putting those children of the document element at column 1 of the line. I'll let the software designers decide what wording to use and whether the box is checked or not as the default to preserve existing behaviour. Do format-and-indent for a set of files?

So for my DITA RNG @domains update process I have: 1. Apply my XQuery to do the update of each doc 2. Do a global search and replace of "
" to "\n" 3. For each document, apply format-and-indent to make everything neat. 1 and 2 I can quickly do from the project view against all the RNG files by setting up a logical folder to hold the files. SurroundWithFragmentOperation duplicates selected string

Hi list, In my oXygen Author mode framework, I want to offer an action to replace an abbreviation with its expanded form. To give a concrete example of one of our (TEI) files. Suppose I have a word like "accusatu." I select it, trigger my action, get asked what it should be replaced with and get (in code) this: <choice><abbr>accusa.</abbr><expan>accusatus</expan></choice> The thing is, when the selected string contains a character entity, say, "Jtẽ", then the surrounding works okay, but the selected phrase is *repeated after* the inserted fragment, so that I get <choice><abbr>Jtẽ</abbr><expan>Item</expan></choice>Jtẽ This sometimes happens and sometimes it does not. With <choice><abbr>intẽtiõis</abbr><expan>intentionis</expan></choice> it has just worked fine. Note that for directly entered chars like nõ -> non, I have never noticed this problem, only when I am using numeric character references. Then again, it's not clear to me which cases are problematic and if they are so always or not. (I think with the Item from the example above it happens always.) But I don't know what distinguishes this case from the second example. (Also, from time to time I get errors because "The current context is read-only", which also seems to relate to the NCR entities involved and to how (far) I draw my selection.) The xml fragment that the SurroundWithFragmentOperation is using is this: <choice xmlns="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"><abbr></abbr><expan>${ask('Wie lautet die Expansion?', generic)}</expan></choice> Has anyone experienced similar things or can help in some way? Possible to use XQuery Update to Update attribute values and get literal newlines?

I'm pretty sure the answer is "no", but I'm wondering if there's any way to use XQuery update via Saxon to update an attribute value such that the resulting value has literal newline characters in it. In the context of the DITA 1.3 RNG stuff, I've written a little XQuery transform that updates the default value of the @domains attribute as declared in a document type shell's grammar doc. The value of the a:defaultValue attribute as I've coded it is formatted like so: <attribute name="domains" a:defaultValue=" (topic topic) (topic hazard-d) (topic hi-d) (topic indexing-d) (topic ut-d) (topic hazard-d) a(props deliveryTarget) "/> Which is consistent with the general DITA coding practice of putting each thing on its own line for each of updating and so on. However, the XQuery update will not emit literal newlines using any method I've tried. This is consistent with the fact that newlines in XML attributes are treated as space characters when the XML is parsed. That is, if I do: let $domains := string-join(local:getDomainsContributions($e), '
') Then what I get in the updated document is: a:defaultValue="(topic abbrev-d) 
(topic equation-d) 
(topic hazard-d) 
(topic hi-d) 
(topic indexing-d) 
(topic mathml-d)

For XSLT scenarios it's possible to render XHTML in the results view. There's no option to do that for XProc scenarios. It would be great if such an option were available. Jostein

Hi Radu, The problem I am having is "after" I set the profiling attributes using ditaval and selecting the profiling condition set using drop down filter. The greying out action never happens on mac, but it works fine on windows. Please find below the attached images in windows and in mac which show how greying works in windows but not mac. Cannot get the excluded topics/text to grey out when profiling attributes are applied

Hi, I am using the DITA framework in Oxygen Author 15.2 on Mac OS and am unable to get the excluded topics greyed out when profiling attributes have been applied. The profiling attributes are being distributed as part of a custom config file. They are being declared in ditaval files which are bundled along with the framework folder. The framework folder is being distributed via source control. I am able to apply see the attributes and apply them on the concerned dita topics and text, but when I select the "Show Profiling attributes" icon on the DITA Maps manager, the excluded topics and text are not being grayed. Also, when I open the "Open Map in editor with resolved topics" icon in the Dita Maps manager window, the excluded topic is still shown as part of the content. I only notice this issue on the Mac, not on Windows or Linux. Is this a known bug in Oxygen 15.2? Could someone help me figure out whats happening here? Thanks a bunch, Nathan
