Long opening time for Oxygen 15 (resent as new mail to create own thread)

Resending this, last copy was done as a reply and got threaded wrong. ---- Anyone else seeing long opening times? I've got a user who says: === I noticed recently that Oxygen 15 takes more and more time to open and display the Welcome screen and/or the usual framework. That can last for over 2-3 minutes. Then, it also happens that some standard xml files take very long to open and display - from time to time I simply have to stop the application and reload it. Is there some sort of cache cleaning operation that I should apply to solve this? Found nothing about that in the WG. Finally, Oxygen reports no error about these hanging situation. === He's using Win7. I'm using WinXP, I also thought Oxy 15 was taking a long time to open, but when I timed it on my machine, it's only taking 1 minute, and then if I close it and reopen it, it only takes 20 seconds, so I assume it's benefiting from caching of recently loaded items. external tool to run a bash script

I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but ... I have a bash script (I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.5) that calls Jing with the simplify option to turn a modular Relax NG compact schema into a simplified monolithic RNG for further processing. It runs just fine from the command line, but I have been trying to implement it as an external tool. The command I use for the external tool is source /Users/taraathan/SimpleApps/oxygen/simplify-rnc2rng.sh ${cf} ${cfd}/tmp/simp-${cfne}.rng with working directory /Users/taraathan I get the error message Could not start: Cannot run program "source" (in directory "/Users/taraathan"): error=2, No such file or directory Process ended with exit code: -1234567 Any suggestions? MarkLogic 7 support

I know that 15.2 supports MarkLogic 7, but I'm having a hard time getting the connection to work. I'm on a Mac, using the latest 15.2 version of oxygen, with a developer instance of MarkLogic running on my localhost. I've set up a data source of type MarkLogic, with the driver pointing to marklogic-xcc-7.0.2.jar. Then my connection is setup with XDBC Host: localhost Port: 8002 User: admin Password: <mypassword> Database: [default] WebDAV URL: http://localhost:8003 When I click Select next to the Database field, I get an error popup: "Malformed Response: background:rgb(102.102,98); If I save it, I see the connection and two nodes - Groups and WebDAV. Under Groups I see "com.marklogic.xcc.exceptions.ServerConnectionException: Malformed Response: }" What have I done wrong? -- Steve

Mis-indenting documentation in XProc

Hi, If I get the simple XProc library below, put the carret in the "p" element, and press "Cmd-Shift-I", I get the same indentation. See the first line? It is cut way too early. If I use "Cmd-Shift-P", it gets indented properly. <p:library xmlns:p="http://www.w3.org/ns/xproc" version="1.0"> <p:declare-step type="foobar"> <p:documentation xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. No Easy Way to Set @colsep and @rowsep on Table in Author Mode

I'm trying to track down a rendering bug in complex tables and thus doing more table editing than I normally do. Just realized I can set @colsep and @rowsep on <table> to turn all the rules on in the table but there doesn't appear to be an easy way to do this from the table editor in Author mode. I would expect check boxes on the initial table creation dialog for "all column rules" and "all row rules" or something similar. Have I missed something in the UI or is there a considered reason for not providing this option? I just wanted to mention how valuable the ability to quickly switch projects is. I find myself constantly switching between projects, often over the course of minutes as I bounce between tasks, conversations, etc. Being able to quickly switch between projects with all the project state remembered and restored is really valuable. Hi, Are you sure editor variables are being expanded in Oxygen 15.2? I used the $framework editor variable in the ant path and I get the following in the console output: "*${frameworkDir}*/../../../../tools/jdk/bin/java" -Xmx256m -classpath " *${frameworkDir}*/../../../../tools/ant/apache-ant-1.7.1/lib/ant-launcher.jar" "-Dant.home=$*{frameworkDir}*/../../../../tools/ant/apache-ant-1.7.1" org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher -f "C:/dev/doc/shared/Oxygen/dita/../../../main/core/build/build.xml" doc.syncall_nowebdev conditionally_build_doc "-Dwebhelp.trial.license=no" -Dsfdc.build.types=PDF As you can see above, the ${frameworkDir} does not seem to have expanded. Hi, I was wondering if it be possible to avoid showing an element when the auto-suggest suggests an element for insertion at a particular location. I am planning this to avoid usage of a few elements like "unknown" etc. I understand that I can use CSS to hide elements in the Author view, but I would not like to show these elements in the element auto suggest even if it is valid. Feature Request: Variables for Path Components When Building Result Locations in Scenarios

I find myself doing a lot of scenarios where I'm generating new copies of existing files or transforming files from one schema to another. In that case, I often need to output the files into a directory structure that reflects the input file's structure, e.g., the same parent and grandparent but under a different greatgrandparent. I haven't seen a way to do this statically in setting up the output location in a transformation scenario. I can get the input file's path, it's name, and so on, but not just it's parent's or grandparent's folder name. I'm thinking that what I'd really like is the ability to get any component of the input file's path so that I can then construct the result path, something like: ../../../newdir/${parent:3}/${parent:2}/${parent:1}/$cfn-newbit.xml Where the tokens are addressed from nearest (parent) to farthest, as for the ancestor:: axis. If I had that I could have single transform scenarios I could apply to large sets of files in different structures and get the required result without having to rejigger the transform scenario for each different output location. JAVA_HOME and ANT_HOME in transformation scenario

Hi, I am creating a custom default file with a requirement of running the transformation scenarios against a specific ANT and JDK version which is distributed via source control. I see that there is a custom ANT and JAVA option in the ANT scenario option (Preferences > Document Type Association > {Selected Framework} > Transformation > ANT Transformation >Options). However, this custom options does not seems to be taking in editor variables or relative paths. Could you please let me know how I could set an ANT transformation using non-fixed paths? Thanks! Cannot seem to get the "Open Maps in editor with resolved topic" working

Hi, I am developing a framework which is extending the existing DITA framework. The new framework is distributed via our source control and so it needs to be pointed to via the "Preferences > Document Type Association > Location > Custom". I am finding that when I open a ditamap using this extended framework (and yes, the correct associations have been made in the "Association rules"), I cannot seem to get the "Open Maps in editor with resolved topic" option working. I have checked that the file is not locked and that I am able to do other operations (like create reusable content etc). What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nathan

Hi, I am not sure if this should go in the SDK mailing list or in this one, so I thought I would start here. I was wondering if there is a way to find out what all are indexed by the Lucene indexing operation when using Open/Find Resource? Where am I going with this? I am trying to build some customizations which would: - Find out all the ditamaps that the active document is being used in - I understand I can walk down the ditamap tree and find this out but if anything in this regard is already stored in the index, I would be very interested in getting it from there - Find all references and conrefs which are pointing to a particular selection (this is more so for inline conrefs rather than conreffed file) - I did read somewhere that this is not being indexed, but I thought it better to ask. If there is any existing way to do any of the operations above, I am would be really eager to know. Thanks, Nathan

issue with replace in multiple files

Dear list, I’m facing an issue with the current oXygen 15.2 for Mac (10.9.1, German locale) and wonder whether it’s me or Oxygen: When doing a search/replace on multiple XML files oxygen stalls (progress dialog remains on one file forever) on specific files. These files have in common that they contain characters from higher Unicode ranges (musical symbols) and when opened oXygen prompts for „bidirectional modus“. Worst thing though, when canceling the operation the file at which oxygen stalled will be empty. Distributing profiling attributes and profiling condition sets within a framework

Hi, I would like to distribute profiling attributes and profiling condition sets but preferably do so via a framework instead of the project option. Is there any way to do this? To define the use case, I would like to deploy a default baseline setup which could be updated via source control without the need for a merge if authors customize their own projects. If it is not possible to distribute profiling conditions via framework, would it be possible to use xlink to do this at the project level. Hello List, Would someone kindly explain the difference between <xs::redefine> and <xs::override> in XML schema 1.1. I've got two books on XML Schema in front of me and I still can't tell the difference. The only thing that I'm sure of is that both are pervasive and that <xs::redefine> is deprecated. Working with Subject Scheme Maps as Nested Lists

I'm experimenting with using subject scheme maps to capture outlines of subjects as part of some training planning I'm doing. To facilitate this I've whipped up a little CSS style sheet that renders the subject definitions as a bulleted list items. However, I don't get any collapse/expand handles in the edit view--I would really like to be able to expand and collapse the list in the main editor window (rather than using the outline view). Is there a way to do this through the CSS?
