problem navigating through folders in Open option (Ubuntu 12.04)

I'm starting to do more work in Ubuntu (12.04), and I noticed something very strange. In the latest versions of Author and Editor both, if I go to File --> Open and then navigate down through various directories, I frequently get stuck. Pressing the mouse once or twice often doesn't appear to do anything. Often -- in fact -- Oxygen will wrongly interpret the mouseclick as a desire to rename the directory name I am trying to dive into. Sometimes I need to click the mouse repeatedly and randomly to get into the directory. Maybe it's just a speed/performance issue, but I was wondering if other people had noticed this same problem. (I'm in Unity window manager with Nautilus). Is there some step to make in order to prevent Oxygen from wrongly interpreting my clicking as a request to rename the directory? Network drive in <?oxygen?> in Oxygen 14?

Using a path to a Windows network drive in the 'RNGSchema' pseudo-attribute in the <?oxygen?> PI works in Oxygen 10.3 but is not resolving when opening the same file in Oxygen 14. Open link to other topic?

Hi, I was wondering how I should create and open a link to another dita-topic in oxygen. I've tried various things and the most logic option to me was to create a xref-element and add the url as an href-attribute. But when I click the link, nothing happens, and selecting "open file at caret" results in an error message: "Cannot open the specified file". Kind regards, Ing. Paste XML highliting into Word

Hi, I have to update a Word document. Not my first choice, off course. I need to paste some XML snippets in there, and I would like to have them syntactically highlighted (that is, to keep the "colors they have in oXygen" when pasted into Word). XSLTHL with DocBook on oXygen 14 (built-in support throws error)

Hi, With the latest oXygen 14.0, I tried to use XSLTHL with DocBook. So I created a simple DocBook article using the built-in oXygen template. I added a programlisting with a language="xml" attribute. A complete example is: When I run the built-in DocBook to PDF scenario, I get an error. If I duplicate it and disable FOP processing (to keep just the XSL-FO as the output), I have something like the following: <fo:block ...> <http://xslthl.sf.net:tag xmlns:http://xslthl.sf.net="xslthl"><hello></http://xslthl.sf.net:tag>World!<http://xslthl.sf.net:tag xmlns:http://xslthl.sf.net="xslthl"></hello></http://xslthl.sf.net:tag> </fo:block> That is, it seems like at some point, the piece of code that is generating (or serializing?) the above element is mixing up the xslthl prefix and the URI "http://xslthl.sf.net". If you replace each of them by the other (prefix and URI), you get the following (I guess correct) element: <fo:block ...> <xslthl:tag xmlns:xslthl="http://xslthl.sf.net"><hello></xslthl:tag>World!<xslthl:tag xmlns:xslthl="http://xslthl.sf.net"></hello></xslthl:tag> </fo:block> I've tried to track it a bit further down using the debugger, but could not find anything more, really. Browser preview

Has there been any discussion of a browser preview view? As demonstrated in your tutorial videos, debugging web applications usually means a lot of switching back and forth between Oxygen and the browser--I've seen some editors, such as Coda 2 by Panic, integrate a preview panel which can be very handy and efficient. A window built into the IDE with a URL input and refresh button would be sufficient. Webkit is ideal in these scenarios due to its attached web inspector--the panel is easily split between rendering and error console, etc. Thanks. Any consideration to a snippet manager, for common declarations, import statements, etc.? Also, forgot to mention that a built-in browser preview is really helpful for testing RESTful API endpoints… Presently using other apps outside of Oxygen for these purposes--the angle is convenience. command line use of oxygen?

Hi, I'm currently automating a manual process of actions using ant (or maybe xproc). At some stage however, the process uses Oxygen's Excel import functionality. I wonder if it's possible to call Oxygen from the command line to import an Excel file and save it as XML file? Right now it's a lengthy process of about 4 or 5 clicks. cheers, Jakob. How to edit multiple XIncludes inline

Hi, When opening a document with multiple XInclude references, the editor does not allow inline changes to the included content (unless it is opened in a separate view). Is there any way to make the XInclude content editable in the original Author view? If not, spell-checking or performing a global replace in a document with numerous XIncludes would be difficult. DITA: @audience = novice or expert

Hi I have constrained, in DITA 1.2, the attribute audience to allow two values, "rtpDev" and "kernelDev". However, oXygen 13.2 keeps insisting on showing four values. It adds "novice" and "expert" to the drop down list in the "Attributes" view, and in the list displayed by <ctrl-space> keystroke. I don't think the extra words are added incorrectly by my DTD, because: - they don't appear in the files my DTD uses (according to grep) - when I select novice or expert, oXygen very kindly displays this error message: - [Xerces] Attribute "audience" with value "novice" must have a value from the list "kernelDev rtpDev" Any suggestions? Support for Svn 1.7 format working dirs?

I installed beta 1 of oXygen 14.0 and ran the standalone Synchro SVN Client. I was very disappointed to see that it still supports no later than Subvesion 1.6-format working directories. Are there plans to add support for Subversion 1.7-format working dirs? When? Thanks!

Oxygen 14 with OT 1.5.6M5

Milestone M5 of the OT changes from Ant 1.7 to Ant 1.8 and no longer uses the Xerces bundled with Ant. This breaks running the Toolkit from within Oxygen because the right Xerces library isn't found: /Applications/oxygen/frameworks/dita/DITA-OT/plugins/org.dita.base/build_pre process.xml:27: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.SubstitutionGroupHandler.<init>(Lorg/apache/xerces /impl/xs/XSGrammarBucket;)V at org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.XMLSchemaValidatorXerces.<init>(Unknown Source) Is there a way to locally update the classpath Oxygen uses in order to pick up the right Xerces jar? Note that I've simply replace the as-installed DITA-OT distribution with the 1.5.6M5 distribution swapping it into the directory DITA-OT. Buffer-related questions (when opened from plugin)

Hi, When opening a buffer from within a plugin (using Workspace.open()), is there any way to 1/ attach a specific value to the buffer (kind of a buffer-scoped variable, in my case just a boolean flag) and 2/ to specify a method to be called before closing the buffer (kind of a buffer listener, so I can do some treatment before closing it)? Plugin needs a system property to be configured

Hi, I am writing a plugin for oXygen. As part of that plugin, I use a third-party library that needs a system property to be set. For now, I added it to oxygen13.2.vmoptions, but this is really not user-friendly (wrt to installation). The other option I can think of is to set the property from within Java during plugin instantiation (the class extending Plugin), but I am not sure oXygen ensures this is called before everything else in the plugin. What is the idiomatic way to set a system property (especially as part of a plugin)? It would be nice to be able to set it in the plugin.xml actually. There is no additional dialog, the component is highlighted in the editor to mark that you are in rename mode and the rename is performed as you type. *XPath/XQuery builder* The XPath builder view was redesigned and it was extended to provide also XQuery support resulting in the new XPath/XQuery Builder. Some of the new additions are - history and favorites - evaluate as you type - expression error checking = Authoring = *Change tracking and comment callouts* The annotations/comments are presented in callouts next to the editing area, thus making it easy to collaborate on document editing and review. The callouts can be configured to present changes (insertions or deletions) as well as additional information e.g. the changed content or the date when that change or comment was created. *Improved table editing* Support for selecting columns and rows and moving them with drag and drop or cut/copy/paste actions. Delete on table selection removes only the values, the structure should be modified using the table specific actions, delete row, column, etc. *New feedback-enabled WebHelp output for DITA* By configuring a couple of parameters you can generate feedback-enabled webhelp. XML DIff algorithms

I notice from the SDK that XML Diff uses an algorithm "based on Sasha and Zhang" for its XML_ACCURATE diff. Do you know of any implementations based on DocTreeDiff? http://www.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/ags/pi/lehre/PatTreesWS11/change_contro… There is a lot of information out there on this topic; most of it seems to be from Springer; and none of that is freely available. See http://www.springerlink.com/content/720344g11375g004/ The ability to derive accurate deltas is essential for good version control of ODF and OOXML documents, of course.
