I installed beta 1 of oXygen 14.0 and ran the standalone Synchro SVN Client. I was very disappointed to see that it still supports no later than Subvesion 1.6-format working directories. Are there plans to add support for Subversion 1.7-format working dirs? When? Thanks!

Oxygen 14 with OT 1.5.6M5

Milestone M5 of the OT changes from Ant 1.7 to Ant 1.8 and no longer uses the Xerces bundled with Ant. This breaks running the Toolkit from within Oxygen because the right Xerces library isn't found: /Applications/oxygen/frameworks/dita/DITA-OT/plugins/org.dita.base/build_pre process.xml:27: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.SubstitutionGroupHandler.<init>(Lorg/apache/xerces /impl/xs/XSGrammarBucket;)V at org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.XMLSchemaValidatorXerces.<init>(Unknown Source) Is there a way to locally update the classpath Oxygen uses in order to pick up the right Xerces jar? Note that I've simply replace the as-installed DITA-OT distribution with the 1.5.6M5 distribution swapping it into the directory DITA-OT. Buffer-related questions (when opened from plugin)

Hi, When opening a buffer from within a plugin (using Workspace.open()), is there any way to 1/ attach a specific value to the buffer (kind of a buffer-scoped variable, in my case just a boolean flag) and 2/ to specify a method to be called before closing the buffer (kind of a buffer listener, so I can do some treatment before closing it)? Plugin needs a system property to be configured

Hi, I am writing a plugin for oXygen. As part of that plugin, I use a third-party library that needs a system property to be set. For now, I added it to oxygen13.2.vmoptions, but this is really not user-friendly (wrt to installation). The other option I can think of is to set the property from within Java during plugin instantiation (the class extending Plugin), but I am not sure oXygen ensures this is called before everything else in the plugin. What is the idiomatic way to set a system property (especially as part of a plugin)? It would be nice to be able to set it in the plugin.xml actually. I wish to grab a subset of the <xs:element>'s within the XSD and print them to a significantly smaller and more manageable/relevant output file. XML DIff algorithms

I notice from the SDK that XML Diff uses an algorithm "based on Sasha and Zhang" for its XML_ACCURATE diff. Do you know of any implementations based on DocTreeDiff? http://www.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/ags/pi/lehre/PatTreesWS11/change_contro… There is a lot of information out there on this topic; most of it seems to be from Springer; and none of that is freely available. Bug in the Ant schema

Hi, With oXygen 13.2, when opening an existing Ant build script (or when creating a new one from scratch), if in a target we have an 'ant' task with some property: <project basedir="." default="dist" name="prj"> <target name="dist"> <ant> <property name="n" value="v"/> </ant> </target> </project> then oXygen complains that: E [Xerces] The content of element type "ant" must match "EMPTY". Catalogs are sometimes not working for resources referenced from RNC schema

Hi, I have just realized that references inside RELAX NG compact schema are not dereferenced using XML catalogs in some situations. How to reproduce problem: mydocbook.rnc: include "http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/5.0/rng/docbookxi.rnc" start |= db.qandaentry sample.xml <?xml-model href="mydocbook.rnc" type="application/relax-ng-compact-syntax"?> <qandaentry xmlns="http://docbook.org/ns/docbook" version="5.0" xml:lang="cs"> ... </qandaentry> Content completition is not working now. The reason is that http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/5.0/rng/docbookxi.rnc is not loaded through catalog (there is local copy in oXygen) and as this file is not available at OASIS site at this moment, oXygen (or Jing) is silent but schema is probably not loaded as completition doesn't work. What's really strange is that validation works and schema is loaded, probably using XML catalog. Any clue how to make this work? It works with schemas in XML syntax. And also it works if I use schema from http://docbook.org/xml/5.0/rng/docbookxi.rnc but there is visible lag as schema is fetched over Internet not from local copy using catalog. parallel installation of different oxygen versions

Hi, I’m really curious to check out the beta version 14, but I have one question: What is the preferred/best way to install two different versions of OxygenXML, is it enough to simply install it in a different directory? How about on a Mac? Will I keep my preferences (indentation for each document type), my database connections, etc.? Thanks, Jakob.

Hi, I'm trying to count elements with css to place dashes between elements and to show indexes (like a,b,c). XSLT issue

I have a stlyesheet I use to clean up SVG files. I have a transofrmation scenario created that uses Saxon 9EE (I have a license for Saxon as well). The transform runs in oXygen and produces the expected output. However, when I run Saxon from the command line, all I get in the output is the XML header. What would cause the command line execution to produce different results to the in-application transformation?

request about french spellchecking

Hi all, I have a problem with french spellchecking with oXygen 12.2. In french the correct to spell "the bird" is to write "l’oiseau" : notice this is not a quote but an "apostrophe" (’) Unfortunately oXygen spellchecker seems not to know about this character, it actually expect a single quote (') that means : - l’oiseau will be considered as a single (unknown) word. - l'oiseau will be considered as 2 words, each one is correct I used the french Hunspell spellchecker. The problem is lest systematic when I used the java spellchecker but still exists (e.g. c’est-à-dire). Does someone else front this problem too ? Is there a way to change this. Are any of the validators available within oXygen equivalent to JAXB validation? In particular, I want to validate in oXygen in order to guarantee that the schema will validate in JAXB. Thanks, Tara

XProject plugin for oXygen

Hi, I have just release a new plugin for the oXygen XML IDE, in order to support XProject, the XML Project Manager tool. More infos on the XProject page at http://expath.org/modules/xproject/. XProject (loosly) defines a directory structure for an XML project: my-project/ src/ ... xproject/ project.xml The subdir src/ has whatever structure you want for your XML files, XSLT stylesheets, XQuery modules, XProc pipelines, resource files, and everything that is part of your project. The subdir xproject/ contains meta informations about your project. E.g. project.xml contains its name and version number, as well as several processors configuration for unit-testing purposes. Based on conventions for the components filename (i.e. *.xsl for stylesheets, *.xql for XQuery library modules, *.xq, *.xqy or *.xquery for XQuery main modules, etc.) it detects them in src/, and based on annotations in those files, it generates automatically a package descriptor and create the package for you. You can also generate a "delivery file" that contains the package, a README file, examples and source code. Or automatically launch unit- tests using XSpec. Or generate documentation for your XQuery modules using xquerydoc. Every dependency is already included in the plugin. To install, download the file xproject-oxygen-plugin-0.3.0.zip from: http://code.google.com/p/expath-pkg/downloads/list and unzip it in your oXygen install dir, in the subdir plugins/ (or copy the dir xproject/ which is at the root of the ZIP file into <your-oxygen>/plugins/). The next time you start oXygen, you will have 4 more buttons in the toolbar, named "Build", "Test", "Doc" and "Release". While editing any file within your project directory, you can click one of those buttons to execute the corresponding XProject target. "Build" creates a new package in dist/ based on src/, "Test" run the XSpec tests in test/ and place the reports in the same dir (see the sample project in the ZIP to see how to configure your processors and XML databases to run the tests), "Doc" places the XQuery documentation in dist/xqdoc/, and "Release" creates a new delivery file in dist/. The packages created by "Build" can be installed automatically in any EXPath Packaging System-compliant system. Any feedback, help, request for improvement is welcome! In particular, I would like to know how I can help a user creating a new project from within oXygen (e.g. by displaying a form to fill in the basic info like its name, version, etc. and create the project structure, and possibly by creating an Author mode for the project.xml files). List of Keys in @keyref attribute in Attributes panel: nice

Just noticed that if you click in the @keyref attribute in the Attributes panel it gives you a list of available keys. Very nice. It's exactly what it should do but I had never tried it and wouldn't have been surprised if it hadn't been there (at least in some other editor). I did it because there's no direct way that I found to create a key reference to a graphic from the tool bar (that is, there's no insert graphic key reference analogous to create content key reference or just create key reference). I now use keys for all graphic references so I can easily use conditional processing to choose between vector for PDF and raster for HTML.
