My question is, is this possible? I've tried altering, changing it quite a bit and can quite seem to crack it. One final thing, REGARDLESS of whether the createStandardHeader template is called or not it is imperative that I process the stuff in <xsl:otherwise> e.g after I perform the check for the above XHTML structure. Using my own Ant build file in a DITA scenario

Hi, I tried to use a custom Ant build file for one of my DITA scenarios. Within that script, I import the Ant script from DITA OT in the oXygen distribution, and I set a value for a specific property: <project basedir="." name="..."> <import file="/.../frameworks/dita/DITA-OT/demo/fo/build.xml"/> <property name="some.ot.prop" value="..."/> </project> The problem is that the build.xml in oXygen distro contains import instructions with properties: <import file="${dita.plugin.org.dita.pdf2.dir}/build_fop.xml"/> <import file="${dita.plugin.org.dita.pdf2.dir}/build_axf.xml"/> <import file="${dita.plugin.org.dita.pdf2.dir}/build_xep.xml"/> and when I run the transform scenario, Ant complains that it cannot find the file /.../fo/${dita.plugin.org.dita.pdf2.dir}/build_fop.xml (see? the property has not been expanded). The error is: BUILD FAILED /.../my-build.xml:3: The following error occurred while executing this line: /.../fo/build.xml:29: Cannot find /.../fo/${dita.plugin.org.dita.pdf2.dir}/build_fop.xml imported from /.../fo/build.xml What did I miss? How can I make sure the same properties are loaded in both cases? Is there any built-in mechanism in oXygen to overload Ant properties without setting my own build file? Integrators to assist with complex customizations?

Hi, With some of our clients evaluating a migration from XMetaL Author to oXygen Author we're fielding questions regarding the transferability of certain types of editing software customizations. Trouble is, we haven't done a whole lot of oXygen framework building . . . yet. I think we've done a fair assessment of the basics with actions, toolbars, menus, content completion, etc. but have some questions about a few things: building forms that interact with open documents, confirming our assumptions about technical approach, deployments, and confirming our estimates for creating relatively complex frameworks. I'm seeking a resource (or recommendation for one) with experience in creating advanced frameworks to speak to. Feel free to contact me off list. Master Files vs Main Files

Hello, We want to add a new concept in <oXygen/> consisting in a new type of folder in the Project view where the user can add the files that must be validated and transformed for the current project. The folder must contain only the main/master modules. For example, if you have a project that contains the XHTML 1.1 schemas you need to add only the main module "xhtml11.xsd" in this folder. If you have a DITA project you need to add in this folder the dita maps that must be transformed. What name do you think will describe better this concept, "Master Files" or "Main Files"? Hi, Whilst working on xhtml --> xml xslt I've run into a blocker when trying to specify the XPath expression to get a title embedded within nested xhtml <span>'s. Document type & framework: external storage

Hi, In the Document Type dialog, if you choose external storage, oXygen still requires to have the framework file as being a descendant of the oXygen's frmework dir (see enclosed screenshot). Plugin config, plugin dir, and API

Hi, I am investigating a bit with writing plugins for oXygen. I am at the point where I'd like to be able to configure it. I can of course write my own config file format and read it explicitely, but I guess that something similar already exists (like e.g. configuring simple key/value pairs in plugin.xml et read them through an API from the plugin SDK). Is there anything like that? My second (related) question is: how can we get the plugin dir via the API? And how to resolve resources in that dir? Congrats for the SDK! Enabling/disabling plugins

Hi, While working on plugins, I miss the ability to be able to enabling or disabling specific plugins. I maybe missed something, but as far as I see, once a plugin is installed in oXygen plugins dir, the only way to disable it is to delete the plugin dir. This is a bit radical. If there is no such possibility, it would probably be worth adding a flag in the Plugins section in the config panel. The ideal would be to not need a restart, but having to restart is not cricial for the final user. Although using the config panel is convenient, being able to enable/ disable a plugin in its plugin.xml would be ok I guess (e.g. by adding a new boolean attribute /plugin/@enabled). Hi John: It is namespace issue. Notice your HTML instance has a namespace declaration. startup issue on Mac OS

Hi, Quite frequently, when I start up oXygen 13.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, I get the exception below. It is not a big issue, since oXygen always starts up the next time, but I wonder what the cause could be? whitespace normalization

Apologies if this is a FAQ -- I'm in mid-workshop. I *think* oXygen already does what I want, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to. I want whitespace to be normalized in <l>, <p>, and <head> elements when I choose format-and-indent. In the Preferences "Editor / Format / XML" pane, in the "Element Spacing" section, I've added //l //p //head to the "Default space" tab, and made sure they are not listed in the "Preserve space" tab. Any thoughts? Oh ... it just occured to me: I've scanned the help pages, and the decision about whether to normalize space or not seems to be based more on CSS than on those preferences; could the default oXygen CSS stylesheet (for TEI, of course :-) by messing me up, here?

Popups in Author mode ?

I'd like to implement something like a popup note in Author. I looked at various CSS implementations ... most use JavaScript which I don't see as supported in Author Mode, but one example used something like this: (below) But I found Oxygen doesn't support hover. multiple extensions?

Hi, I've made an extension (for bibliographic references) that works in oXygen. Now I've made a second extension (for linguistic terminology). This extension works stand-alone. But when I try to integrate it in oXygen, oXygen says it cannot find a certain webservice it depends on. And secondly, the logging is written to the file of the first extension. Can I "only" add one extension to oXygen? CSS Validation problems

I'm editing a css file for use in Author mode. My default CSS validator is set for "CSS 3 with oxygen extensions" Content completion is working fine but somehow validating the CSS is finding errors where there should be none. Any suggestions ? Problems with XQuery indentation.

I'm having two problems with xquery editor indentation that I suspect are in some option somewhere but can't find them. 1) Tab size and spaces Can I set the Tab key to use Spaces and specify how many ? e.g. make Tab use 2 space characters. 2) Matching indentation of {} When I declare a function the closing } doesn't auto-match the indentation of the opening }, and to make it worse when I use Enter it does indent ... which makes it harder. e.g. Typing declare function local:test()<ENTER> {<ENTER> <TAB>foo()<ENTER> } Leaves me with declare function local:test() { foo() } ---> Indented here Maybe a minor point but when I see Oxygen matching to the open { why wont it match the indentation? Module name in errors with MarkLogic

When using an XQuery transformation against MarkLogic where the main module imports a module, if I get an error in the imported module the error printed by Oxygen does not report this. It reports the line number but no indication that the line refers to an imported module or which one. I know this information is available because I can get the full information including a stack traceback when using MarkLogic's CQ or query console. Any suggestions on how to get this info in Oxygen ? Hello Wendell and Karl, Wendell, If we decide to implement a solution that adds a performance penalty or clutters the interface, I can assure you that an option will be available to turn that feature off. Additionally there is another idea to provide content completion in XSLT from the associated DTD/schema(if one is available) of the XML file. Something similar could be used to implement your proposal("XSLT's content completion could aggregate the XML files it sees there"), a schema could be created dynamically from the XML files(similar to the Tools > Generate/Convert Schema) and that schema could be used for CC. BTW Wendell, I believe you have accidentally sent the reply only to me without CC-ing to the list. Karl, We could use an Oxygen PI in the XSL content to associate an XML with the stylesheet, similar to the association of a stylesheet with the XML. e.g. <?oxygen type="text/xml" href="myfile.xml"?> I've logged all your suggestions and the improvements of this feature will be discussed internally. I realize that if I setup a transformation scenario between the XSLT and the Xml then when authoring the XSLT I get intellisense on the Xml source but only if I create a transformation scenario where the XSLT is used as the document to build a scenario from. So what if I create a transformation scenario and I use my source Xml as the starting point (typical for me)? I don't get the intellisense when in the stylesheet. XPath expressions syntactically highlighted in XSLT

Hi, In 13.2, I discovered the new feature of highlighting the XPath expressions in the select attributes in XSLT. While this is a good idea I think, the result is not really clear in my humble opinion. It is hard to visually differentiate the value of the attributes (the XPath expressions) and the XSLT instructions themselves, as they use nearly the same colors. Something that could (probably) help would be to have the ability to add some grey-shading under the select attributes. Like a (very) light background color. So it would be possible to visually differentiate directly what's an XPath expression and what's the XSLT structure. Just some thought...
