Hi, A new version of oXygen is almost ready. A beta version is now available for tests from http://oxygenxml.com/download_oxygenxml_editor_beta.html If you have a valid maintenance pack then the beta version will work with your existing license key, otherwise please use the test license key included below [1]. Version 13 introduces of a new product called oXygen XML Developer that gathers the development features of oXygen (similar with how the oXygen XML Author gathers the authoring features). oXygen XML Editor represents the union of oXygen XML Author and oXygen XML Developer. Problems in Ant transform, xslt task and manually specified TransformerFactory

Hi, I have Ant build file which works perfectly outside oXygen. For various reasons both Saxon9 and Saxon6 has to be called during the build process, so xslt task always specifies which transformer to use using factory: <xslt ...> <factory name="net.sf.saxon.TransformerFactoryImpl"> <attribute name="http://saxon.sf.net/feature/xinclude-aware" value="true"/> </factory> <classpath location="${saxon9.jar}"/> </xslt> or <xslt ...> <factory name="com.icl.saxon.TransformerFactoryImpl"/> <classpath> <pathelement location="${saxon.jar}"/> </classpath> </xslt> Problem is that in oXygen (12.2, Windows/Linux) such Ant task produces the following error message: BUILD FAILED .....\build.xml:126: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.icl.saxon.TransformerFactoryImpl I suppose that's because oXygen uses special classloader. Do you have any idea how to overcome this issue? I need to run same Ant script from oXygen and standalone as well. Read from database?

Hi, I'm trying to write a plugin to select data from a popup screen. This works - more or less - for static data. But when I try (with Spring and Hibernate) to read from a database the popup screen doesn't show up. The first thing I tried was to make a connection in Oxygen and my data is shown there. How can I insert data from my database into my (Dita) document? Hello, A Selection Plugin should be used for processing the selected text in the Text editing mode of an editor of type XML (XML files, XSL files, XSD files, etc). If you want to copy the data from a MySQL table to a DITA document you can display the table contents in Oxygen by browsing the database contents in the Data Source Explorer view, right clicking on the table name and selecting the Edit action from the popup menu. This action will display the table in a new Oxygen view as in the following example from the User Manual: http://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/ug-oxygen/topics/relational-table-explorer.html Just select and copy the data from the table and paste it in the DITA document opened in Oxygen. Is this what you want to do? Mounting ZIP as directory for project

I inherited this project from someone else, so it's possible she had things configured differently. Variable names stops working

I'm having some (really weird) trouble, and unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce it on other computers, but here's a short pipeline: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <p:pipeline xmlns:p="http://www.w3.org/ns/xproc" version="1.0"> <p:variable name="daisy-dir" select="'daisy-dir'"/> <p:variable name="other-dir" select="'other-dir'"/> <p:add-attribute match="/*" attribute-name="daisy-dir"> <p:with-option name="attribute-value" select="$daisy-dir"/> <p:input port="source"> <p:inline> <doc/> </p:inline> </p:input> </p:add-attribute> <p:add-attribute match="/*" attribute-name="other-dir"> <p:with-option name="attribute-value" select="$other-dir"/> </p:add-attribute> </p:pipeline> You'd expect to get: <doc daisy-dir="daisy-dir" other-dir="other-dir"/> But on my computer with <oXygen/> XML Editor 12.2, build 2011051714 on Ubuntu 11.04, I get: <doc daisy-dir="" other-dir="other-dir"/> This only happens in oXygen on my Ubuntu though, not if I run calabash from the command line in Ubuntu or oXygen in Windows; so I don't know how to reproduce the problem on other computers. If I rename the variable from "daisy-dir" to something else, it works. So for some reason, the oXygen installation is ignoring variables that are called "daisy-dir" all of a sudden... I changed it to "input-dir" and it worked for a while, but after a few minutes, oXygen started ignoring variables with that name as well. Doing a "find | xargs grep -i daisy 2>/dev/null" in the oxygen directory gives no relevant hits, so I'm not sure how to debug this further... Is there any logfiles I can provide? I have a hunch that it may have to do with variables and options having the same name across files/steps (example below), and how that's stored internally in either oxygen or calabash, but I'm really not sure. Thanks for your feed back concerning the Beta release (1.0.b8) of our comparison plugin, it has enabled some minor bugs to be fixed. For more detail please refer to the release notes (http://www.deltaxml.com/oxygen-plugin/current/docs/release-notes.html) Version 1.0.1 of DeltaXML's oXygen plugin is now available from our web-site (http://www.deltaxml.com/products/oxygen-plugin/features.html) This plugin shows the changes between any two versions of a document as oXygen 'tracked changes'. Please use oXygen's Author mode to view, accept and reject the changes. In addition, the plugin provides both a DITA and DocBook comparison mode for generating results with DITA and DocBook revision markup. Future releases of this plugin will also provide an oXygen track-changed output option for the DITA and DocBook specific comparison modes. We have had some requests for the plugin functionality to be available in CMS systems, we are therefore planning to release an API product which will generate track-changes output and be accessible for API or scripted use. Finally, for those of you that experimented with the Beta release, it is worth noting that the plugin now tracks changes within CDATA sections and comments. Image Preloader

I have been using Oxygen for many years to create files. Normally, I create a windows batch file and call FOP from there. My current problem is that I am using images for the first time. My external FOP complains that it cannot fins an ImagePreloader. I tried looking at the FOP lists and quite frankly did not understand how to install and use their ImagePreloader framework. So this means a shift in my work habits. I think I can put together a FOP scenario within my Oxygen 12.2 workspace, but I am unsure how I would invoke (if indeed Oxygen has one) an ImagePreloader Any suggestions on where to look for help? If I ignore the encoding error, I get Kanji-style text. When I restore the defaults, it reads OK. I restarted Oxygen, and I was still seeing the problem. oXygen Author-mode document comparison plugin

We have developed an oXygen plugin that shows the changes between any two versions of a document as oXygen 'tracked changes', which is available for evaluation download from http://www.deltaxml.com/products/oxygen-plugin/download.html. Please use oXygen's Author mode to view, accept and reject the changes. We are looking for feedback from anyone using oXygen, who might find such a plugin useful, say to author structured documents. If you use DITA, this plugin can also create a DITA topic with status and rev attributes inserted to show the changes between two versions of your topic. Similarly, if you use DocBook, this plugin can create a DocBook document with revisionflag attributes inserted to show the changes between two versions of your document. The DeltaXML oXygen Plugin provides authors of structured documents with that essential 'compare documents' feature found in ordinary word-processors. We are in final beta stages and would appreciate any comments from oXygen users on this mailing list - please download an evaluation version and we look forward to hearing your feedback. What Determines the view selected when you move to an editor window?

Using Oxygen 12.2, if I have two editor windows open with a number of views docked in the same tab group, if for example I select the Outline view in Editor 1, switch to Editor 2, and then come back to Editor 1, the Attribute view is now selected in Editor 1, not the Outline view I had before. Is there a way to predict or control which view will be presented by default? In my case, I would normally want the Outline view to be presented by default. How to pass the custom schema url from a validation scenario to a custom validation engine?

It works fine if I invoke it with the validation button and a detected schema (referenced by <?oxygen?>-PI). If I use the same custom engine from inside of a validation scenario with a custom schema url, validation fails because ${ds}/${dsu} are not set. How can I pass the custom schema URL from the validation scenario to the validation engine? I suppose there is an other editor variable, but I couldn't find it. Hi, I'd like to know if it is possible to select the category out of a list instead of typing it down. So, when I edit the prolog of my topic and add the category to the metadata, I'd like oxygen to show a dropdown list with predefined values. Tables with width in percents

Hello all. I am working on customizing DocBook for our publishing department. I have a difficulty displaying tables in Author mode with "width" set in percents. The table itself is displayed fine with width corresponding to % of the page set in width attribute, but the columns are displayed as much narrower. There is a big chunk of empty space on the right that's not taken up but the columns. As soon as I change tables width to a set value like 500 the columns expand and take up the whole table space. Example below. Try pasting it and seeing how it gets displayed in oXygen. I know that DocBook schema bundled with Oxygen complains about width attribute but it is supported by HTML tables and there are rules for it in CSS. How can I fix this. I tried playing with CSS but could not find any solution. I looked at the API and there is some interfaces that seem to be able to help with this but It seems pretty complicated. How to turn of file filtering when using workspace.chooseFile method?

I have been developing an oXygen plugin and am using oXygen's 'workspace.chooseFile' filter to provide the functionality for locating a file on disk. The aim is to have no filtering at all, so the user can see all the files in a directory. However, I have yet to workout the correct list of filter extensions to achieve this result on all operating systems (e.g. Windows 2008 R2, Windows 7, and Mac OS X.6). The current plugin is issuing the following command is: workspace.chooseFile("Choose file", new String[]{"*", "*.*"}, "Any file", ioArg == IOArg.OUTPUT); Therefore, the current filters are "*" and "*.*". Any suggestions appreciated. Help needed with XSLT

I'm applying a transform to SVG documents, to make them validate against the SVG RNG schema. I have everything working EXCEPT the name spaces on the SVG element itself. I figured this out, quite by accident. "& in an href attribute must be escaped as &" This is an HTML rule, but apparently also applies to the href in your processing instruction, because when I tried my string with &, it works. *********************************** Before I updated to oXygen 12.2, I was able validate against a URL with a query string that generates an RNC schema ( the URL points to a PHP script that generates an RNC schema customized to the parameters in the query string). Now with the new <?xml-model?> tag, it does not recognize the URL, and gives an error message "SystemID: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\RuleML\WP1\schema\tests\validation_on_URL_w_query_string\test_validation_on_URL_w_query_string.xml Main validation file: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\RuleML\WP1\schema\tests\validation_on_URL_w_query_string\test_validation_on_URL_w_query_string.xml Engine name: oXygen Severity: error Description: There is no schema or DTD associated with the document. You can create an association either with the Associate Schema action or configuring in the Options the Preferences/Document Type Association list, or by creating a Validation Scenario. " I can (and you can too ;) manually verify that the URL is not broken, and does indeed point to an RNC schema. Also, when I use a redirect (on my server) that disguises this URL as a physical file with an .rnc extension, oXygen is able to validate against that. There is no need for it to be required, as the schema type is specified with the @type attribute. I would report this as an issue, but I can't find the issue tracker from your website. Tara
