Feature request: Make scratch buffer persistent

Backtracking XSLT ?

Is there some option in Oxygen Editor where I can hilight a section of the output of an XSLT transform and have it show me where in the XSLT this was generated ? keyboard shortcut: Add Docbook graphic (possible?)

Hello Espen, Thank you for the file. It is a bug in the TEI P5 stylesheet for XSL-FO output. The FO file is not valid because it contains many elements that are not in the FO namespace. The error message specified only the list-item element that cannot be a child of fo:flow but there are more errors. Starting with line 7343 the FO file contains many elements that are not in the FO namespace: block, list-item, list-item-label, inline, etc. I think the error should be reported to the developers of the TEI stylesheets so I send this message and your TEI XML file to Sebastian Rahtz from the TEI Consortium to look into it. You can generate only the FO file in Oxygen by editing the transformation scenario for PDF output. For example you duplicate the TEI P5 PDF scenario using the Duplicate button of the Configure Transformation Scenario dialog, you disable FO processing and you set a .fo file name in the Save As field. I'm trying solution #2 a. I edited build.xml (I made a backup copy first!) b. In the section starting with <project name="dita.build" basedir="." I added <property name="pdf.file.name" value="${dita.map.filename.root}" /> c. In the section starting with <target mae="publish.map.pdf"> I commented out the entry <param name="outputFile" value="${dita.map.output.dir}/${dita.map.filename.root}.pdf"/> and added <param name="outputFile" value="${dita.map.output.dir}/${pdf.file.name}.pdf"/> d. in my transform setting I clicked the Parameters tab, added the name "pdf.file.name" and made the value XYZSAMPLEXYZ And...it worked! Debugging MarkLogic AppServer xquery code

I have Oxygen setup now so I can debug on MarkLogic server, but it requires a local xquery file. This is fine for some things, but I'd like to debug some queries that are run as part of the AppServer technology. These need to be run from within marklogic so they have access to functions like xdmp:get-request-field() Any suggestions on how to debug a xquery the resides on marklogic being invoked as an app request ? Showing the XQuery input perspective

I have an XQuery file, and have configured a Transformation Scenerio, but when I use Perspective -> Show View -> XSLT/XQuery input, I get this note: To have a better content completion over the values of 'match', 'select', and 'test' attributes, please create a scenario for this stylesheet. Save in Author mode doesn’t preserve empty lines

Hi, I include empty lines in DITA files to improve the readability of the source code when viewed as text. If I switch to Author mode & save, oXygen doesn’t honor the **Preserve empty lines** preference. The same happens with map files saved from the DITA Maps Manager. I would expect the empty lines to remain, as I have specified the following settings: * Editor > Format > XML > Preserve empty lines = ON * Editor > Pages > Author > Format & indent when passing from author...=OFF Have I misunderstood the settings, is there another flag I need to set, or is this a bug? Setting output file name

I'm generating PDFs using the default/demo PDF generator in Oxygen 10.x on Vista and using a bookmap and a dita map. I'm looking for a way to set the output file name explicitly -- currently the ditamap/bookmap I'm using becomes the output file name. I've looked through help and through the demo transforms, but I'm not finding this. I see that I can do this for PS, HTML, or TXT output. Is there a way to explicitly set the file name in Oxygen 10.x / DITA?

no luck with xproc scenario

Hi there, Today I got my first XProc file working and now I am struggling to drive it from oxygen. What I would like to achieve is that the input and output files are taken from the environment in a similar way as the XSLT scenario does. However, the input port dialog does not let me input editor variables, although the help seems to suggest that this should be possible. And on the output side, I can set an editor variable, but if I set it to contain ${cfn} as I usually do, this turns out to be the filename of the XPRoc file, not of the input file, so it is the same for all files and thus not useful. Either I am seriously misunderstanding how this is supposed to work, or there are some bugs to fix here. ISO Schematron not supported in NVDL

Hi, it seems that although oXygen supports standalone and embedded ISO Schematron it is not able to process ISO Schematron schemas referenced from NVDL. Problem with DocBook 4.x stylesheet customizations

Hi, I have noticed that for some time oXygen is now shipping with namespaced DocBook stylesheets. This is just fine, but problem is that frameworks/docbook/catalog.xml contains the following rule: <rewriteURI uriStartString="http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/" rewritePrefix="xsl/"/> This rule will cause import of namespaced stylesheets into customizations layers written against original non-namespaced stylesheets. As such customization layers do not reference DocBook elements in namespace result is mangled output. Would it be possible to either drop this entry completely from XML catalog or to ship oXygen with both namespaced and non-namespaced stylesheets? selection plugin results to result pane?

Hi there, In a recent discussion with fellow TEI encoders who use oXygen as one of their XML editors, as one of the reasons *nat* to use oXygen was mentioned that in oXygen one can not use a selection to, for example trigger a database lookup with a result displayed in a result panel. Now, pondering this question, I was looking at the plugin types and wondered, if the SelectionPlugin could be used to develop something like this. However, according to the documentation, apparently the results of the Selection Plugin always go back and replace the selection, which is unwanted in this case. Also, it is not clear to me, if actions taken in the plugin could show their results in the result pane? Hi Wendell, We discovered some issues with the associations of transformation scenarios made from the project. Basically opening the Associate Transformation Scenario dialog and pressing Cancel or Escape to close it caused a revert to the previous associated scenario. We fixed these issues and we made them available also as oXygen 11 build 2009102810 available now from our download page http://www.oxygenxml.com/download_oxygenxml_editor.html Putting back the old Transform with... action is scheduled to be available in oXygen 11.1. Batch transformations

Hi, In the Projects View in v10.3, the context menu items for files and folders included one that allowed the application of a Transformation Scenario that hadn't yet been associated with the document(s) -- "Transform with..." or some such. (It was analogous to validating with an external schema. You picked the Transformation Scenario you wanted to run, and voila.) This menu option is gone from 11.0 and I miss it. It was especially useful for transforming documents in batches. I suspect there is another way to achieve the same thing. Any tips? security risk when using exist from oxygen ?!

Hi there, I just discovered what I think is a security risk, or at least a flaw in the way oxygen presents system ids. When evaluating a XPath for a document that is accessed through webdav on an eXist database, the results are displayed in the bottom pane of the window. The column for system ID will show the users credentials, that is, account name and password in clear text. It seems a potential risk to me to expose these things, so I wonder if there is a way to hide that. global global open option?

oXygen has four potential "modes" with which to view a file: Text, Grid, Author, and Design. I *always* want files ot open in Text mode initially. I realize that for any given document type, I can change the ihitial opening mode to Text mode in the "Document Type Association" preferences pane, as long as I tell it I'm a developer. But is there a way to do them all at once? That's just for me. But the problem is bigger than that. I'm about to teach a TEI workshop using oXygen. They've bought a license and are busy installing oXygen 11 on a bunch of machines. It could be pedagogically counter-productive if when the students open their first template file, they get Author mode instead of Text mode. Is there a way I can change this behavior globally? Or at least a way to get this behavior without asking those doing the installation to manually adjust the preferences each time? (It takes roughly a dozen clicks/actions.) E.g., would it work to set the preferences the way I want them once, and then copy that instllilation to other machines? Can we just copy over a single preferences or framework file? Thanks.

Locating schema for http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace

Hi, in oXygen 11 when I open W3C XML Schema which contains: <xsd:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace"/> I got error message because oXygen is unable to locate this schema. I'm almost sure that previous versions were able to locate schema because they have stored it somewhere localy. Is this intended regression or I'm missing some option to control this behaviour? Hello, Thank you for contacting us. It seems to be a problem when you specify an empty string content in css for an element and that element is empty. I added an issue on our internal issue tracker regarding this behavior. If you want to have empty table cells without showing the word "entry" on a grey background it is not necessarily to modify the css file. You can hide the empty elements placeholders ("element name" on a grey background) by unchecking "Show placeholders for empty elements" option. WSDL 2.0 support in oXygen 11

Hi, If I create a WSDL file with the following root element: <definitions xmlns="http://www.w3.org/ns/wsdl"> I get a validation error: "E [Xerces] cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'definitions'." If I replace the namespace binding with the following URI: <definitions xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"> then everything is ok. The former URI is for WSDL 2.0, the later one is for WSDL 1.0. I think I've seen somewhere in the oXygen doc that it supports both WSDL 1.0 and 2.0. Did I make anything wrong? With oXygen 11..0, build 2009100911. Author view CSS and content property

I was modifying the dita.css styles (removed the import statements and defined new styles in one css file) for tables and came across this bug(?) with the content property. I wanted to show empty table cells with nothing in them. The default is with the word entry on a grey background. topicref @href vs @conref and author mode

All the examples of topicrefs I’ve seen use @href when referencing topics. When viewed in author mode all I see is “topicref” with a grey background. But when I change the @href to @conref in 10.2 and 10.3 the topicrefs are resolved and I can see basically what the output will look like. In 11 the following error appears: Error - recursion detected when expanding reference: topics/task_task123.dita#topic123! Should the topicrefs only contain @href? The above behaviour is a really nice to have. Also tried having both @href and @conref and found that the PDF plug-in in the OT does not output the content that is referenced. Only when @href exists (no @conref) does the PDF plug-in resolve all the references. We like the behaviour of seeing the map resolved in author mode, as it will show what the output will basically look like and very quickly. We prefer this over continually parsing the map into PDF as our manuals are 1000+ pages and image intensive and does take quite a bit of time.
