Context menus

Is there a way for developers to add to the right click context menu in Author Mode? I would like to be able to right click a node or some text and have a context menu give me choices based on what I have right clicked. Of course, I would also need to be able to handle the event generated when a user makes their selection from the context menu. New XSLT outline comments

Hi, About the new outline for XSLT modules, there are two columns, one for the name of the component and one for the mode (if the component is a template rule and has a mode name.) The mode column takes a lot of place, even for a module within which you only have functions! Two ideas to improve its readability: 1/ have the mode column only for template rows (I am not sure that "conditional columns" depending on the row are neither possible or usable) or, even better, 2/ group all template rules in the same mode into their own node: + variables - var1 - var2 + functions - fun1 - fun2 + templates - template-name - match-pattern + templates (mode: my-more) - match-pattern - other-one I think that has the double advantage of having the layout more clear and also the grouping of template rules itself (as usually a mode groups logically related rules.) Two other notes: 1/ the group names in the outline are singular while I think they should be plural (variable vs. variables) and 2/ template rules with a name are rendered as "name match-pattern". I agree that having a single "group of words" for both is more clear because more concise, but we should have a way to distinguish both (for instance a slightly different color, or one in italic...) Filtering in Outline view

On the feature List i found the following Point: You can easily focus on a subset of components using the new Outline view filtering feature. Just type a text fragment in the filter box and only the components matching that will be presented. For advanced usage you can use wildcards (*, ?) and separate multiple patterns with commas. This is a feature i requested and i'm very happy to hear, that its implemented but somehow i can't find the filter box. Thanks! Track Changes Functionality - 10.2 beta

Hi there, I am currently developing a plug-in for oXygen , and 'track changes' is one of our major priorities. With the release of oXygen 10.1, I thought now would be a good time to ask if there is any support for tracking changes in oXygen 10.2 beta. Since 10.2 will likely be released AFTER we release our plug-in, we are looking at implementing this ourselves. To that end, I was also wondering if it is possible to bind to and handle events for individual keystrokes instead of CTRL commands. Your release notes for 10.1 say (from the website): "[API] Author extensions can receive document change notifications The API for developing Author extensions provides support to receive notifications when the XML document is changed." Does this mean that there is now a way to handle events as the document is being edited? This would greatly affect our implementation of track changes. Of course, if you already DO have track changes in 10.2 beta, I would be interested to get a test build as soon as possible. Referencing external files in relationship table topicrefs

I recently created a topicref in a relationship table to an external file. During trial and error in compiling, I learned that the externally referenced file had to be in the "out" folder to be compiled. If this is the only method, I will need to copy hundreds of external files to a subfolder in the "out" folder. Is there an alternative way to reference external files other than this approach? My original assumption was that an external file could be located outside the "out" folder, and that the topicrefs would include the path to a different location, using "../" at the beginning of the path. I have not found information in Help about this issue. Thank you. RelaxNG Inclusion

Hi, I'm trying to start a RelaxNG Schema and in some tutorials i found that i can make RelaxNG Grammars without a start Element. Oxygen always complains about such files and makes it impossible to use such files. That can be very usefull because i want to have one file with a start element including many other files without a start element but with defines in it. any suggestions? Empty Schema Element

Hi, I have a question about Oxygen and XSD Schemas. I need to have an Element which has to be empty. No attributes and no child elements. I already tried a normal complexType without content and the following simpleType: <xs:simpleType name="Empty"> <xs:annotation> <xs:documentation> Elemts of the type »Empty« must have no content. </xs:documentation> </xs:annotation> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"> <xs:enumeration value=""/> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType> But in both cases i can type whatever i want to into Elements with the Type Empty. And when i am editing in such an element oxygen gives me a list of all Elements in the whole Schema. Does anyone know how to get this working? Two favourite shortcuts: 1. Meta-E, to wrap text in a tag 2. Ctrl-Alt-X, to remove tags Two shortcuts I crave: 1. Select the contents of an element (everything between the opening and closing tag of the element the cursor is in.) 2. Like Ctrl-Alt-X, but to delete the tag attribute under the cursor. I looked amongst the existing shortcuts, but couldn't find either. Saxon SA support in oXygen

Gentlemen, I am trying out features of schema-aware transformations. I am aware that one of the things SaxonSA is supposed to be able to do is signal errors when XPath expressions in your XSLT would resolve in empty sequences by necessity (given valid input), since the elements named would be invalid according to the given schema. (This is documented on pp 169-170 of Michael Kay's Programmers Reference, 4th ed., and elsewhere.) But I can't get this to work in oXygen. SaxonSA happily runs my transform without emitting warnings, even when I put spurious XPath in. On p 169 of the PR 4ed, Mike indicates that -val:strict has to be provided from the command line. In oXygen's Preferences, I can see how to set -val, but not -val:strict. Might that have to do with why this feature isn't working for me? This is just a guess, since Saxon does complain if input is not valid. Otherwise I'm completely in the dark. I'd be grateful for any tips. I'm still on oXygen 10; the version of SaxonSA is 9.1.0.3J. problem validating XML with XSD

Hi, I'm experiencing a problem trying to validate an XML produced as a back-up of a WordPress blog. I'm trying to process it with XSLT 2.0, so for that it seems I need to have a XSD schema (it doesn't like DTD). So I created a XSD schema through Document | XML Document | Learn Structure + Save Structure. I associated the XSD generated to the XML via Document | XML Document | Associate Schema. So the first two attributes are added to the root element <rss *xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" ** * * xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="VDS.2009-02-11.xsd" * xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:excerpt="http://wordpress.org/export/1.0/excerpt/" xmlns:wp="http://wordpress.org/export/1.0/" xmlns:wfw="http://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/" version="2.0"> and this line <?oxygen SCHSchema="VDS.2009-02-11.xsd"?> is added before the root element. For more details see the 'Performance problems' and 'Setting a parameter in the startup script' sections of the User Manual. If you just want to inspect the file, please use the Large File Viewer available from the Tools menu. Any help? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? External data from XQuery in Transformation Scenario.

I am new to oxygen and I was wondering if it is possible to setup a transformation scenario where it would take my local file then add some data from external XQuery processor and take resulting XML and hand it off XSLT Processor and then to PDF FO. Here is my scenario in more details. I have main input DocBook 5 xml file. That file contains most of the data that needs to go in PDF. However final PDF needs some data that is not in that XML. That data is stored in a separate set of files and needs to be selected using complex XQuery based on certain parameters. Those parameters are stored in main xml file in processing instructions. Is something like this possible? Perhaps chained scenarios where output of one is input to another. Sort of like Apache Cocoon with eXist. -- Sincerely, Mike

New From Template Opens In Text Mode, How to Make it Open In Author Mode?

Is there a way to control this? My desire is to have new templates open in Author mode. Customizing footers in output PDF

Hi, all. I confess that I'm something of an XSLT newbie. I'm working on customizing the output footers for our PDF documentation, and I'm having a difficult time of selecting the appropriate elements using XSLT. I'm trying to use the pagesetup.xsl stylesheet as a template, and I've been doing some work trying to construct the appropriate <xsl:value-of> selection. It has been somewhat difficult to use what should be a very simple selection: <xsl:value-of select="book/info/productname"/> The problem is that "book" no longer lives in the default namespace, but (it seems) in the "d" namespace: <xsl:stylesheet exclude-result-prefixes="d" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:d="http://docbook.org/ns/docbook" I've tried removing the "exclude-result-prefixes" item and trying several variations on the above value-of query: <xsl:value-of select="d:book/info/productname"/> <xsl:value-of select="d:/book/info/productname"/> <xsl:value-of select="d:book/d:info/d:productname"/> <xsl:value-of select="d:productname"/> And the like. I know that the rule is being triggered because I'm getting textual output in the resulting PDF. But so far I'm mystified about how to go about modifying the header with the product name and version. I am nearly certain the issue is namespace related, because I'm able to get xsltproc to transform the xml file using pretty trivial xsl. I've attached both. switch off: auto self-standing tag function

Dear list, In my xsl, in my header, I have a link to java script file, which cannot be a self-standing tag: <SCRIPT language="Javascript1.2" src="../java/menu_desc.js" type="text/javascript"></SCRIPT> Every time I transform a xml file, however, the Oxygen automatically change the above link into: <SCRIPT language="Javascript1.2" src="../java/menu_desc.js" type="text/javascript"/>. I want to switch off this function, i.e, the function, which change the empty tags into self-standing tag automatically. Could anybody teach me how to do this, please/ Thanks very much. Hi, We need your feedback on one of the oXygen 10.1 features. We implemented a new XML Schema editor where XML Schemas can be edited visually. The properties of the selected component are available in a side view (Attributes view). Now, some attributes are specified by the user, some other have default values. For marking the specified ones we though of two possibilities: - bold the attribute names as you can see in http://www.oxygenxml.com/update/boldNames.jpg or - bold the values, as you can see in http://www.oxygenxml.com/update/boldValues.jpg Do you have a preference for any of these?
