Wildcards in validation scenario associations?

Hello! I would like to use wildcards to associate all xsl files in a certain folder to be validated starting form another xsl file. (the files are only used as imported from that certain place) Looking on how the project file works, if I associate it manually and save the project file, I get an added "<String xml:space="preserve">validation.scenario.associations</String>" with the actual file path added. If I simply modify the file path to contain for example "*.xsl" it doesn't automatically associate them, so it seems this solution did not work. executing XPath

I still don't like using the XPath Builder because, as far as I have been able to ascertain (without, of course, reading the manual) there is no way in oXygen to press "Execute" without using the mouse. My operating system (Mac OS X 10.5.5) will permit me to select buttons using TAB, but this is not always reliable, although it seems better lately.

Scenario editor: doc param and meta-stylesheet scenario

Hi I have the following stylesheet parameter in one of my stylesheets (note its type): <xsl:param name="initial" as="document-node()"/> I don't find how I can set its value in the scenario editor. Is it possible or do I have to create a driver stylesheet getting a filename and parsing it to set this parameter? (really, I'd like to avoid that) As a slide question, this stylesheet is actually a generated stylesheet. But I didn't find a way in the scenario editor to support meta-stylesheet (a double transformation that first generates the stylesheet using the meta-stylesheet, then transform a document using this generated stylesheet.) For now I have each time to launch two scenarios one right after the other. But maybe I just didn't find the right way to achieve that? XPath over sets of files

Hi, I know about the Find/Replace in Files option on the context menu in the Project View. Run a string (or regular expression) search through a set of files collected in a folder in your project. Cool. How about an XPath option that would work the same way? Currently I usually write myself a little Schematron to locate particular nodes, which isn't a big deal. But it would be nice not to have to when the search can be expressed simply in a one-line XPath. oXygen Author: Restrict from creating non-valid content?

Hello! Is it possible to restrict the Author view in oxygen from creating non- valid content? Meaning, it would only allow insertion of the elements shown in the drop down list, etc to avoid writers not familiar with the DTD to still provide content without errors? Upgrading Saxon, and custom processor thoughts

Hi The Saxon version used in "XML Editor 9.3, build 2008081313" is still 9.0.0.6. I tried to add the latest 9.1.0.2 but there is no support for parameters for custom processors. Did I miss anything? Here is what I would have thought to be able to do: when asking oXygen to add a processor, beside to be able to give it the command line, it should be possible to say "this processor is of well-known kind 'Saxon B'". Because oXygen already knowns how to support Saxon B, the user only need to give the directory where he put the JARs (and the license for the equivalent support for Saxon SA.) And this mechanism could be used for other kind of processor as well (libxslt, MarkLogic, eXist...) Did I miss something that looks like that? Or at least that allows me either to use parameters with custom processors or to update the Saxon version used? Best regards, --drkm

Mac: oXygen 9.2 + Java SE6 = key up/down problems

Hello. I'm running oXygen 9.2 on Mac OS X Leopard and recently updated to use Java SE 6 to get spaces working properly. However, I got another strange error that appears to be related to oXygen (but it might still be java.. can't tell). If I run oXygen with Java 6, the up and down keys will not move the cursor, but instead move the scrollbar. The arrows left / right works as supposed, and selecting text with shift + up/down also works as normal. I do not get this behavior in other Java applications so I suspect it to be oXygen related. Hi there, I was wondering, how other oXygen users are solving the following problem: While adding notes to a text, I would like to mark the word(s) that are to serve as anchors for the note and then the note itself, using something like <choice> <seg>Word</seg> <note>The word Word here has a special meaning... </note> </choice> Ideally, I would just highlight the 'Word', press some magic key that adds the <choice> and <seg> around 'Word' and then an empty <note> element after words and leaves the cursor within this new <note> element so that I can write the note. Is this possible in oXygen 9.3? If not, I would like to suggest to add something like this for future products, maybe as an extension of the template system? Syncro SVN Suggestion: Show/Hide Unversioned Items

Hi, How about adding an option to the Working Copy View to toggle the display of unversioned items, much like those that already exist for Ignored and Deleted items? I realize that unversioned files can be excluded by setting svn:ignore properties, but for projects with lots of individual types in different locations, it can be tedious to set up ignores for each of the various file(type)s & subfolders. This would make it much easier to focus on files under version control. Roger P.S. Will Syncro SVN 4.0 be included in oXygen 9.4, or when can we expect it?

Bidi limit

To save memory, Oxygen disables the bidirectional functionality whenever a document reaches a certain size. Is it possible to manually turn it on, or to increase the upper limit? That would make me very happy! Thanks, François Charette

Unable to print an element's value

Hi, I've encountered some behaviour that I can't understand in a transformation that I'm currently engaged on. The transformations are all pretty simple and follow the same pattern, but with just a few of them I'm getting odd results where the element text is not being output. CSS editor could persist parameter drop-down

The CSS editor when you type the : (colon) at the end of a property name currently drops down a list of possible keywords or parameters. If you like neat code like me, as soon as you insert a space after the colon, the drop-down disappears. I hate cramped code, like ... .aClass { display:inline } ... and prefer it like this: .aClass { display: inline } Could the drop-down persist until either (a) you select an option from the list, (b) start typing a non-whitespace character, e.g. beginning a value, or (c) until you type the ; (semi-colon) or } (right brace) that ends the line? CSS editor frustrating, needs improvements

I am incorporating copyright class definitions for CSS-only cascading menus. It would be nice to set it off the copyrighted block with extra empty lines above and below, but <oXygen/> reduces all separator lines between CLASSES to one line, and all COMMENTS are abutted with NO empty lines between them. The other editors have a Preference to "[ ] Preserve empty lines", but not the CSS editor. It would also be nice to select a block of text and wrap it in comment opening /* and closing */ in one operation. And a fancy shortcut to select an entire class block by inserting cursor in selector/class name and using a key shortcut would be good. Some attributes/properties can take either a numeric unit of measure or a text token, such as "auto". It would be nice if the autocompletion drop-down showed placeholders (perhaps italicized) for allowable units which, when selected, would insert the unit of measure preceded by the cursor ready to type in the value. soft link to the java app stub to easily open a file

Hi, I am looking for a simple way to open a file in a running oxygen app. have found that I can open a file in a running instance of oxygen like so: $ /Applications/oxygen/Oxygen.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub / path/to/file.xml I tried to create a soft link the JavaApplicationStub in my home dir, but the system does not recognize it as a file. Is there some way I can alias the longish path so I can do something like (while in my home dir): $ oxy /path/to/file.xml Is there a better/easier way? thanks for any tips, -Rob

XSL-FO Docbook Transformation failing

In an attempt to render PDF via FO, I am reading the Oxygen Users Manual (pages 314-333) and am trying the Docbook PDF transformation described on pages 326-327. However, this transformation fails with an Error Msg 1 which appears to be a FOP command line usage error. Since I cannot see the actual call to FOP from Ozygen, I have no idea how to fix this. I should also add that my FO and XSLT files run when I invoke FOP from the command line. Mark

DITA Feature Request -- Insert href to files

It would be nice to have a better method for inserting the hrefs for <xref>, <link>, <conref>, and <image>. As far as I can tell, the current feature set allows you to insert these elements, but then you need to hand-code the href. Would be nice to have a dialog box that allows you to select the target file -- for example, something like the way you can currently insert conrefs. Even nicer, it would be great to be able to drag-and-drop from the Project pane. For example, drag a topic file, and drop into an open DITA file (in Text or Author view), and an xref is inserted. Ctrl-drag, and a Related Link is inserted. Drag a graphic, and an <image> element is inserted, with the href already correctly defined. To get an xref to a particular element, it would be nice to have a feature something like this: - Select the target element - Select menu item "Create xref to target element", which results in the following: - If the selected element has no id attribute, an id attribute is created, or a dialog box opens, telling the user to specify the id attribute - The clipboard is then populated with the <xref> element with the href already correctly defined. - An optional dialog box could appear, telling the user that the xref has been formed and is on the clipboard - You then go to the place where you want to put the xref, and just paste it in. - Oxygen should adjust the syntax of the href, depending on where the user pastes it in. This would not just be a simple copy-paste, but would require some additional intelligence from Oxygen: - If the xref is pointing to content in the same file, the following syntax is used (as per the DITA Language Spec<http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/v1.1/OS/langspec/langref/xref.html#xref__at…> ): href="#topicID" href="#topicID/elemID - If the xref target is in a different file: href="filename.dita#topicID" href="fname.dita#topicID/elemID" It would be nice to have similar copy/paste functionality for conrefs. Much easier than navigating through a dialog box. While I haven't done this (and don't know how it can be done) I have successfully post-processed oXygen log files using XSLT 2.0. This isn't beginner-level code, but it is capable of making your logs into pretty much whatever you like. I think I remember suggesting that oXygen export its reports in an XML format, which could then be post-processed much more easily, but if so that feature request is still in the pipeline. (And if not, I hereby make the suggestion.) Hi, All: I use the "validate with" function in Project to validate multiple files by our schema. But I don't know how to format the validation log to save it in one file, with the format like this: File name, description, location in one line. Now I copied what in the Batch Validation error and paste in Excel, but for one record there are four line of the error message: Does anyone know how to set up the format of the log file? Thanks. RFE: Ability to select browser for previewing x/html files

I have mainly been using <oXygen/> for DITA work but have recently started developing some web pages. It is surprising that you can only specify one browser for previewing x/html files. Most editors allow you to specify several browser which are automatically added to a "View in Browser >>" cascading menu item. entering unicode characters

Hello, trying to find out whether Oxygen is capable of inserting unicode characters the same way Word does (i.e. giving the character code directly, without using any visual character map or something...) I found a reply from Sorin to the same question asked by someone in September 2006. Sorin then said: You cannot enter the code of the character, for example \uB031 because that is not supported in the current version of <oXygen/> but it is planned for a future version. Two years later, the manual of the current version still shows no sign of this functionality being added, but maybe it has been added silently (because it's really a shame that the only way to enter unicode characters is the character map and code-templates), which I hope. Maybe someone can give me more information on this?
