Hi, As I mentioned a couple of months ago we will make available multiple oXygen builds as some issues are discovered and fixed in oXygen. In general most of the people do not need to upgrade. They need to upgrade only if the issues fixed by the builds will affect their work. Here there are the fixes added since the 9.1 initial build 2007121417: Build 2007121915 * Fix a problems with the remote HTTP resources encoding. The encoding for remote HTTP resources was taken from the HTTP headers, defaulting to ISO8859-1 if nothing was specified, thus bypassing the automatic encoding detection and leading to wrong usage of the ISO8859-1 encoding. * Fixed a problem related with loading of the plugins for the <oXygen/> standalone edition. If a plugin specified a jar with its classes then no plugins were loaded. Build 2007122116 * Fixed the problem of dragging XML elements from the XQuery input view to the XQuery editor. This functionality did not work. * Fixed the UDDI browser connection through the HTTP proxy. The UDDI browser did not use the proxy settings specified in oXygen options. * Fixed the problem of using the XML schema: http://www.w3.org/2001/03/xml.xsd for referring the default xml attributes. The above URL was resolved though the default oXygen catalog to a local copy. The local copy of the schema contained a reference to a DTD that was not available locally. We removed that DTD reference. * Set a Saxon 9 option specifying that all nodes are untyped when using Saxon 9 Basic. This allows Saxon to perform better optimizations and prevents a problem with an exception thrown by Saxon B on a match pattern of the form a[x='value']//b. Feature Request: button/keystroke to Untag An Element

I often want to remove a containing element from around one or more child elements. I'm not seeing a direct way to do that in Author. I'd like it to be bound to a keystroke by default and, if possible, on a toolbar button. Feature Request: Keystroke to Select Element Content

In the Arbortext Editor some keystroke would select the content (but not tags) of the element containing the cursor. Subsequent presses would extend the selection up the ancestry by selecting the containing element, its parent, etc. I used this a lot and I don't see a way to do it in Author mode. Autoinsertion of Child Elements Leaves Cursor in Wrong Place

Editing a generic DITA topic, if I insert a "ul" element in Author with the no tags or partial tags view, an li element is inserted automatically but the cursor is positioned before the li element, not inside it, which is where I would expect (and want) it to be. Is this a function of the doctype-specific configuration or general behavior of the editor? Moving Elements in the Outline View : How To Move Nested Element Out

I'm using Author mode to edit some long HTML documents. I've run into the situation where I want to move a nested element out of its wrapper element and make it a sibling of the wrapper. For example, consider this starting state: <div><h1>Level 1</h1> <div><h2>Level 2</h2> <div><h3>Level 3</h3></div> </div> </div> I want to take the "Level 3" div and move it so it is the sibling following the "Level 2" div. Using the outline view, I can grab the inner div but when I try to move it past its containing div, nothing happens. Is this possible to do with the outline view? I haven't noticed any other particularly convenient way to do this sort of structural rearranging. the last row height of the table

Hi: In the A4 page master, I put some text in the top of the page, then a table followed, the table have table-header and some table-body, in table-body, there are some table-rows in it, the row number is not fixed but it can be calculated out by xslt. My questions is I want the last row of the table to be extend to the bottom of the region-body. Can't edit 11 meg file

I'm trying to open & edit an 11 meg file. When I do it errors with: "Please restart after allocating more memory to oxygen. For this modify the parameter -Xmx in the startup script, for example - Xmx700m. In case you were running a diff tool when this problem occurred you can try to use another algorithm next time. For more details see the 'Performance problems' and 'Setting a parameter in the startup script' sections of the User Manual. If you just want to inspect the file, please use the Large File Viewer available from the Tools menu." What gives? This is an 11 meg file; not 11 gig, not 11 tere. 11 meg! If I need to resort to vim, why am I spending money on oXygen?

Advantages it may offer over standalone oXygen 9 for purpose of technical authoring. It refers to DocBook/TEI, but not DITA, which is supported by oXygen 9. In which ways may XEP (one of the main bundle components, which can also be integrated with oXygen 9) be distinct from or advantageous to FOP .94? And otherwise, would the added value be mainly the offered stylesheets? And would it be the same oXygen UI? Thanks ka

regular expression problem

Dear all, I am using oxygen 9 for MacOS X. From time to time I have the following problems with find & replace while using regular expressions. I search for <l>(.+)(\d+)(</l>) (in a TEI-encoded verse text find numbers at the end of verse before the closing tag) and want to replace it with <l n="$2"> $1 ($2) $3 (copy the numbers as n attribute within the tag and put also before the closing tags within parentheses) Strangely, from time to time only the first digit is being copied with the replace function, although all digits are being highlighted with the search function. I have not been able to figure out when this happens. The same happens also if instead of (\d+) I use (\d{1,4}). Any ideas what is causing this and how it can be fixed? Best wishes, Notis

Selectively Locking Elements in the Editor

Does Oxygen provide a way to selectively lock elements within the editor or can this be done through a plug-in? There are several use cases: 1. Lock and element and all its descendants 2. Validation of no-namespace Schema-based Document

I'm trying to figure out how or if its possible to validate a schema-based document against a schema where the system location is a relative URI resolved through a catalog. Here's my document element: <document xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="simpletest_nons.xsd"> This document validates when it's in the same directory as the schema. Here is my catalog: <catalog xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:entity:xmlns:xml:catalog" prefer="public"> <system systemId="simpletest_nons.xsd" uri="simpletest_nons.xsd" /> <uri name="simpletest_nons.xsd" uri="simpletest_nons.xsd" /> <uri name="urn:simpletest.gidi.org" uri="simpletest.xsd" /> </catalog> When I try to validate the above document stored in a location separate from the schema, validation fails with messages to the effect that it can't find the schema, with an effective URI that reflects the location of the document. Actually I get the same sort of failure for a namespaced document valid against a namespace-governing schema, e.g.: <document xmlns="urn:simpletest.gidi.org" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="urn:simpletest.gidi.org simpletest.xsd"> Is it possible to use catalogs to remap non-absolute URIs in this way or must I use absolute URIs for the schema location value? Problem with Plugin-Specific Dialog During Save

This is using V9 on OS X Tiger. My URI handler plugin puts up a dialog on save to capture information needed to commit the file back to the repository. If I do File->Save or click the save button, then I get the usual "save in progress" dialog with my dialog above it. However, if I do "ctrl+s" to save then sometimes my dialog comes up under the progress dialog and I can't figure out any way to bring it to the front. I tried doing this: CommitDialog.toFront(); CommitDialog.setVisible(true); But it appeared to have no effect; Is there a solution to this? Thanks, Eliot -- W. oXygen 9.0 builds and the build 2007110615

Hello, Starting with version 9.0 we decided to make available more builds inside a minor version. We will document all the changes that a build adds on the build history page http://www.oxygenxml.com/build_history.html In general a build will fix problems that appear only in certain circumstances or will add features that were not possible before that build date so users should check if the changes in a new build are affecting them or not before updating. For instance we made available a first build since the initial 9.0 release. This build changes are recorded on the build history page: http://www.oxygenxml.com/build_history.html#build2007110615 As you see the changes are: * Fixed missing resource error when a scenario is edited in the Document Type Association and the GUI interface is in a different language than English. * Updated the TEI P5 framework to the latest version, that is 1.0. So, you should consider getting this build only if you are using oXygen in a language different than English and you want to customize the document types or, if you are using TEI and you want to use TEI P5 1.0. Otherwise there is no need to move to this new build. All new builds will be announced on the this list. URI Handler Question: Escaping/Unescaping URIs

I don't know if anything I'm doing here is correct, but here's what I'm trying to do: In my plugin I'm producing URIs that look like this: RSUITE:/Some Path/Another Folder/Some File Name With Spaces?moid=123 I was doing this in my chooseURL() method: Return url = new URL(urlString); Where "urlString" would be the string above (that is, the string with spaces unescaped). The problem I ran into was that on close the URL that came back had all the spaces escaped so that the URL produced by chooseURL() and the one used by getOutputStream() did not compare as equal (which was a problem because I was using the URL as a key to get back to my private data structures representing the repository object). I solved the problem by doing this: urlString = RSUITE_PROTOCOL + ":" + URLEncoder.encode(resId, "utf-8"); urlString = urlString.replaceAll("\\+", "%20"); Where "resId" is the part of the URL following the "RSUITE:. This works in my (limited) tests but I don't think it's a complete solution. My question is: is there a better way to be escaping and unscaping the URI string so that what Oxygen calls getOutputStream() on matches what I originally construct. The other thing I noticed was that if I didn't change the "+" to "%20" then in the Oxygen UI the "+" characters show up (e.g., in the label on the tab for the document) but if I change them to "%20" then you get spaces, which is what I want. If I edit a file using my plug-in and, with that file still open in the editor, close Oxygen, then when I open Oxygen again, I get a "Plugins-Errors" message box from Oxygen indicating an InvocationTargetException on my plug in class and these messages in the log: 1 WARN [ main ] ro.sync.G.W - Invalid field : systemID for class ro.sync.exml.I.B.A. ro.sync.G.B: Invalid serialized URL : rsuite:/.manageable-objects/6 1 WARN [ main ] ro.sync.G.W - Skip invalid object ro.sync.G.D: Missing system ID in the mark location. 1362 WARN [ main ] ro.sync.G.W - Invalid field : defaultScenario for class ro.sync.exml.I._.B.U. java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space 4270 DEBUG [ main ] com.reallysi.rsuite.client.oxygen.RSuiteUriProtocolPlugin - in getURLSTreamHandlder(), returning new RSuiteUriProtocolHandler(): 13297080 And then a lot of these: 10967 DEBUG [ main ] com.reallysi.rsuite.client.oxygen.RSuitePlugin - In RSuitePlugin constructor 10968 ERROR [ main ] com.reallysi.rsuite.client.oxygen.RSuitePlugin - instance member variable is not null, throwing IllegalStateException But I'm not getting any messages from any other components of my plug-in so I'm not sure what I should be doing to prevent this failure. Hello, is there some API reference for ro.sync.ecss.extensions.api.AuthorOperation and related classes available? Chapter 6 of the users manual is nice, but not enough and the OxygenPluginsDevelopmentKit.zip does not contain the "authors extensions". Thanks Martin

Batch editing of files?

Vista Crash

My old XP system needed upgrading - basically because Oxygen was very slow. Yesterday I bought a new desktop computer with 3 Gigabytes of memory and was looking forward to fast transformations |-)! I installed Oxygen and everything looked great. I tried running a transformation that takes 2 seconds on my old XP with 512 megabytes of memory and the transformation took 5 minutes. I tried it again and got a message saying to increate the "-Xmx" in Oxygen.bat. I increased it from 256m to 512m then to 1g and am still having the same problem. I couldn't find any information on the archives. Anyone have any advice on solving this problem. TIA!
